Master Chief in DOA4

I'm just relieved it isn't Cortana. That would have been some really dumb shit. Cortana isn't even the size of a human being. It would be like having a dwarf fighting in a DOA game. Either that or they'd blow her up to the size of a human being and it would look really really stupid. Plus the fact that they'd be fighting a freaking transparent hologram who doesn't even fight or physically interact with characters in the Halo universe. It just made no sense at all. Makes much more sense to put in a character that looks like Master Chief. This is definitely going to help sales out like Link in Soul Calibur 2. I think Team Ninja did a great job of rendering Master Chief and the Halo 2 hangar, but it is a cheap ploy to net sales you can't deny that.

*imagines what red vs blue could do with this.
I'm sure they will use it in at least one of their episodes. Should be pretty cool actually.

It looks pretty good. I was hoping for a different character but a female spartan is alright. It's just a selling point though but not enough to get me to buy DOA 4.

Looks really good, just wish it wasn't in DOA. Although it's not logical, wish they could have broke some deal for Master Chief in the next Virtua Fighter 360 game. Ah well.

I think this is cool. I hope this starts a trend where Bungie gradually introduces the other Spartan-IIs in the squad. They're why I like the novels so much.

Attn: Namco. THIS is how you do an exclusive guest character

Sure, the ecksbocks got screwed with its SC2 guest character, but Link > Masterchief. :P After seeing the pics I think the spartan looks out of place...and it also seems there's motion blur in the in-game pics...

Wouldn't it hurt to punch/kick/throw that armor around?
This is a game where the characters fall off of sky scrapers and mountains and don't even get a scratch. :lol Not that anyone really wants to see the girls get beat up or cuts/bruises on them. I don't think they're going for realism in the DOA universe.

Yup. Specifically, it says "the new motion blur effects add to the cinematic look of the game."

I thought it was only in some photo mode, but that definitely looks in-game now. Which is awesome, 'cause it really does improve the quality of the presentation. Nice stuff.

Looks great, but the character just seems out of place in a Dead or Alive game. I'm also surprised the character is a female since the armor looks exactly the same as the male spartans. This is DOA...shouldn't she have outrageously large breasts? :P

This Spartan character looks no more out of place than Spawn and Heihachi did in SC2. Link was a good fit for the GC version, but I think Namco could have done better with their choice of characters for the PS2 and Xbox versions. But it was Todd McFarlane that tainted SC2 more than the bonus characters did. :)

SC3 + Master Chief w/Plasma Sword and a nice Pistol finishing move = fap fap fap

Haha fucking great. Even though im buying DOA4, i was not particulary impressed with whats been revealed so far. But this? This is awesome, cant wait to play it :lol

what was kelly's call # again?

That's what I want to know. The article mentions the Halo novels, so I'm thinking this female Spartan might be Kelly (I don't remember if there were any other females in the books...).

In the third Halo novel, it says that Dr. Halsey and Kelly leave the rest of the group and go off somewhere in their own ship. If it is Kelly in DOA4, the story will probably tie into that somehow.

continuity is still "off" unless time travel is conveniently added to the backstory

That's a good point actually, but then again, this is a story for a Halo character in a DOA4. It's anything but important.

its been a while, but isnt there some time manipulation in the halo books concerning the crystal and slip space?

Anymore background info? Never bothred to pick up the novels, so ... well I'm in the dark atm.

Just imagine how that background will play like. Wonder if you can smash opponents into space :D

i hope one of the "throws" has the character slapping a sticky on your opponents forehead

So what fighting styles do Spartans excel in??

Come on Itagaki, make it happen!

I wonder if Rare understands that a woman in her line of work isn't going to look like that.
As if the SSX Tricky looking version of Joanna is anymore realistic. :lol

You're talking about a game series with a funny talking alien named Elvis and a computer laptop that flys and acts like a human being, if they were going for realism or believability they failed a long time ago.

That shit never stopped Lara Croft. It's a game, for christ's sake. Glam it up a bit ;)

i was excited until i read that it's not the master chief....

wtf, if it was the master chief or cortana, sure, it sounds cool...

but some random spartan?

LAME

not that it matters much since i'm getting DOA4 anyway...
