Man I'm tempted to go back to early Trump threads say Aug-Oct just to read all the experts laughing at others for thinking Trump had a chance.

We're here folks. It's over.

That was certainly me. Although what I really held to was that those early polls are meaningless, which they are. And if he was still leading in late December, he was possibly a Thing, and if he was leading in January, he was definitely a Thing (though not necessarily the eventual nominee).

I was finally convinced he was a very very real possibility when he only slightly underperformed his polling in Iowa.

5 years ago Clinton was with President Obama in the situation room watching the Bin Laden raid

Trump was running a reality TV show

Hey what about that other guy. The one that says he's a moderate but has actually passed extremely conservative laws, specifically anti abortion laws.

Who?

Oh you mean "Pray The Gay Away".

He's a nobody. Best he can hope to do is play his cards right and become Emperor Trump's right-hand man.

on that note, reminder that poligaf called this

In Aug-Oct, I still think it was more correct to call Trump a long-shot than it was a 50%+ favorite. Sometimes, long-shots pan out, but that doesn't mean they were locks.

And at the end of the day, comes the realization from everyone that Cruz never actually had any chance, because he's always been an unlikable fuck.

The GOP's half-assed attempt at rallying behind Cruz as the alternative was by far the cherry in their stupid-fuck cake. He was one of the worst candidates back when he announced his intention to run and he continues to be one of the worst candidates now.

I don't think it'll ever sink in for me that Donald Trump of all people is the Republican nominee until the convention happens.

So what's Cruz gonna do now? Announce his cabinet? Announce how he's going to decorate the oval office? He picked his VP last crushing loss, this one needs to one up the VP.

And Cruz strikes me as that type of person, that will support Trump and campaign for him, once Trump gets the nomination.

Its like the last year meant nothing, all that vicious and cruel things said. I don't get it.

I don't think so. Cruz has been mocked by the nation as an ugly, friendless liar, and Trump has been the main facilitator of it at every turn. Cruz is a saint if he doesn't outright hate the guy. He'll likely spend the rest of the year seething in self-imposed exile, just like all of Trump's other kills.

On the other side of the aisle, Sanders talks a lot of shit but it's all just political mudslinging. He knows Hillary's America is a thousand times closer to his ideal than Trump's. He'll support her once he gets his head on straight and figures out how to disengage from his rhetoric.

wait whats happening?

Why are people certain that trump will be the nominee. Isn't California still the big deciding factor.

Yeah, but Trump said today he would think about putting Cruz on the supreme court. Probably just trolling, but ya never know.

That is a pretty good batting average. For the record, I called it too, and unless something crazy happens, I have a good payout waiting for me at predictit (^o^)

To defend myself, I didn't realize that Republican insiders would come to the conclusion that Ted Cruz was a bigger asshole than Donald Trump.
