Maybe it's because it comes off so divorced from his ring gimmick, but I can't buy Balor as a serious wrestler when he takes every opportunity to mug for the camera like a goof. His cheesy grin reminds me of the kid at the front of the class who smiles happily because they got called on by their teacher and praised. And he dresses like someone half his age.
You know, if people want to like Balor, that's their thing. I don't like him, but I guess I can see why people might like him.
But the idea of him being in The Club and The Club 'betraying' AJ coming from people always seemed so dumb. AJ was the better Bullet Club leader and wrestler in every way. Why the hell would you want to downgrade? And could you even imagine the back and forth promos between AJ and Finn? Yikes.

So I just read the raw results as I was watching the nba game. I see that that AJ styles has now fully transitioned into enhancement talent. What a joke.
That's all he was ever hired to be. Shouldn't be a surprise.
He's an upper card mainstay. He's in a spot that no one would have believed was possible this time last year if he has signed with WWE.

Eh, if you watch some of the matches he had shortly after The Shield split, or down in FCW, he was very obviously better at that time. Hell, he had one of the better matches last year, that ladder match against Seth Rollins. He was never the great wrestler some believed, but to deny there's been a precipitous regression there just seems silly to me. It's not just the wrestling - his character, his passion, his everything has slowly drained out of him for the better part of a year now.
