If we just count this 7 games (Pokemon is for Pokémon Compagny) the total sales for Nintendo in 2006 is 14,683,255. And it's not finished, and it's not all.
Actually, not quite. Several of the games you listed were released in 2005, but you are counting their LTD as part of the 2006 total. Specifically, Brain Age, More Brain Age and Animal Crossing were all massive sellers in 2005. Mario Kart DS not so much, but it still sold a fair bit before the year ended.

Oh yeah, there is a rumour that "More More Brain Age" is coming out in February.
It's been found on a Japanese Ryuta Kawashima wiki, but it's unconfirmed for now.

Another 4 million seller.

Nintendo shouldn't push too hard with just Brain Age, and sequelize it to the point of irrelevance. I think instead they should be working on that next big non-gamer hit that will draw the Brain Age and Animal Crossing crowd without making them think, "Hey, I just bought this."

Either the list is fake or the figures must be messed up in some ways. The last-week sales don't even match last-week MC chart.

Not too bad when you actually combine the three version, this week actually was higher than the last which is a good sign that this could possibly crawl to their expected 500K figure or near that when it's all said and done. Three versions was definitely an overkill though and Capcom shouldn't do that again. Ever.

It's data from one chain. As always.

Didn't Mario Kart DS do that last year?

No, 2nd week is usually less than the first one (MK sold over 200k the first week)

The_lascar said:
You know Brain Training ? :)
BT has strong legs, but 2nd week was slower than its debut. It became a hit in August 2005, 3 months after the release and, of course, after that, it sold more than the first week many times :)

Rockman DS debuts at 77k and second week is over 100k, very impressive result (especially for a 3rd party game)

Did you even look at the dates? We don't even have a "last-week MC chart," yet.

Media-Create numbers:

Brain Training:
16 May - 22 May 42509
23 May - 29 May 47861

Gentle Brain Training:
27 Jun - 3 Jul 72656
4 Jul - 10 Jul 75156

New Year's is probably helping Rockman have a higher second week, though.

Didn't realize Jump Ultimate Stars already surpassed its prequel. It's performing the way most thought the original would. :)

The "last-week" I mean is 12/18-12/24 on MC.

http://www.m-create.com/jpn/s_ranking.html

The last-week figures on the "COMGNET raw" chart (it's for 12/25-12/31, so "last-week" should mean 12/18-12/24) are way OFF the MC version... unless I read the "COMGNET raw" in a wrong way (they said "this week vs. last week"... so for example the figures for Wii play are 226 this week and 217 last week... right? That chart still confuses me lol :lol )

Yeah, I still remember how I was surprised of the short legs of such a game. I would've bet a year-long ban that it'd pass the million with no problems at all. Luckily I didn't do the bet :D. Great games, though, both of them :)

It does have that Brain Age kind of feel to it. Would be the first console launch million seller since Super Mario 64 in Japan, unless you count the DS's SM64DS and Wario Ware.

That literally means 226. 226 copies sold at one store in a certain chain. Nothing beyond that.

Where the heck are the new m-create numbers? Is this the week we don't get em and two are combined next week?

Ooops that chart just refers to 1 store...? LOL stupid me I thought it meant 226k :lol I briefly saw u guys talking about 1449"k" for DQM:J in previous posts, so I thought it meant "k".

There is usually a slight delay for MC in big holiday period.

i don't think Nintendo has been pushed hard BT franchise, in Japan the sequel came very soon, just after 7 months, but in 2006 nothing has arrived, even if there is a rumor for a new game coming on February.

in the West they only brought the first one, which is, honestly, very poor compared to the sequel (tests are doubled and Dr.Mario Touched Version bonus is very sweet).

of course we all are waiting for Japanese Training... :D

I wonder if they're going to bring Brain Age to the Wii like with BBA.
I think Brain Age works better on a handheld to be honest, mainly because of the ability to write and draw using the stylus. I know you can easily emulate this with the wiimote but it still doesn't give you the same feeling as holding a DS horizontally in your hand and writing with the stylus does. Also, Brain Age is encouraged to be played every day for a short amount of time, which is easier on a portable that you can take with you wherever you go and play on the train or during your lunch break at work. BBA is more like a collection of mini-games, so it makes more sense to bring that to Wii. It's also much more playful in style so it can easily be made into a sort of party game if you will. And we all know we need more party games on Wii. :lol

Yeah, the three versions thing definitely turned out to be a bad idea. Hopefully it continues to perform well despite that, as I'd hate to see Capcom's DS support cut off, and that basically hinges on its two big new games -- Star Force and Gyakuten Saiban 4.

It'll be interesting to see MMSF's third week numbers.

Yeah, Rockman is a little puzzling. I was expecting the three versions to rival Monster Hunter Portable's phenomenal success on the PSP. I think they'll go on to sell for the whole month of January. Hopefully with only two versions this time, saving the third for half a year later or something.

Right. If you're going to do three versions, at least take the Pokemon approach -- two at one time, with the third coming after a significant delay and with some revisions incorporated, so that you can get some of the people who bought the first two to snag the third as well.

Three at one time just appears to have been overkill. But yes, hopefully they'll continue to sell throughout January and come out as a good success in the end.

Has there been any Capcom DS game with legs at all (I can't seem to remember any atm)? Capcom really needs to take a few lessons on how to properly milk their games again, maybe even take a few notes from Nintendo. But regardless, I have little hope for Star Force (well I didn't have hope for it at all since its first shots were shown). "/

Phoenix Wright The Best has pretty good legs. It's been selling for most of the year IIRC, even after the sequel came out.

Definitely. I'm particularly impressed by Mario Kart's legs - it looks like it might even break 2,000,000 eventually, which is simply astonishing. It's already nearly doubled Super Circuit's sales, and breaking through 2 million would - IIRC - put it close to MK64.

It does not. It means that those are the sales at the Comgnet chain for Dec. 25-31. We don't have a M-Create chart covering those dates, yet.

MK64 is at 2.24 Million according to Magic Box. Yeah, MKDS will surpass it sooner or later. Super Mario Kart is another beast altogether, at 3.82 Million. But NSMB is about to surpass that.
