I like to think our Media Create threads are like a full course meal at a fine restaurant. Readers should want to open a second browser tab for our thread.

It's a slow thread, so I will post this early to give you something to nibble on before hardware goes up:

"Vinnk's Village" Anecdotal Report

Here is my 5th report. It is my opinion that DQM:J, Layton and Yoshi’s Island are no longer supply constrained. Also since used copies of DQM:J are now in the market it will continue to be easily available. I removed DQM:J from the list of games I am looking for. Layton and Yoshi will likely be removed next week. Also since in the 5 weeks I have done this I have only ever seen the PS3 out of stock once (at a very small store), I will stop trying to count that system.

This week I was asked to look for: Wii hardware, DS lite, Layton and Yoshi’s Island DS. I went Thursday April 12th, 2007:

NOTES:

1. This week At Wanpaku they had videos of various Square-Enix games running on the PS3 kiosk. Oddly the video didn’t include any footage of FFXIII or any other PS3 game. It was mostly DS games. Oddly the 2nd (smaller) Wii Kiosk was showing gameplay footage for Ghost Recon for the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 display itself was running a demo of the Idol master most of the week but yesterday it was displaying an error message.

2. “Old Reliable” (The PS3 at Famicom Dojo) has been there since 5 weeks after launch. I realize I will miss it if it is ever sold…

3. Yamada Denki is selling new copies of Majikku Taizen for only 980 yen. Seems Nintendo developed magician simulator flopped big time.

4. Layton and Yoshi’s Island are no longer supply constrained. (But still selling briskly)

5. The PS3 is not worth tracking. There are tons of them. Every store. Every time.

6. Wii is still really hard to find. DS lite is rare but attainable with a bit of searching.

7. I will leave for the United States later this week and I will be there for about 3 weeks. Of course this means I will not be able to do the “Vinnk’s Village” post until I return. My next report will be on May 10th. But if requested I could email Famicom Dojo and get their numbers during the time I am gone.

I've been at GAF since Dracos2 (back when he had to big, bouncing anime tits avatar) posted a link to a topic about new Metroid Prime screens from E3 2002 from Planet GameCube. Since this forum was infinitely more active, I've been here ever since.

He's sad because Cheesey gets to make the MC threads and he doesn't. It's a tough life.

:lol I almost never even tried to make MC threads. I just think all the extraneous crap is stupid. And, yes, if you want to put the prices in, might as well include review scores and links to import the game!

Magic Taizen has sold 163.746, according to the last Famitsu chart available, not too shabby

Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V, rename Naruto title, punctuate ZAFT, write out Professor, replace publishers with systems. Yeah, I'd say they ripped off my title translations by not linking back here. They promise hardware numbers tomorrow. =P

Yeah, they sold a respectable amount in numbers. But they anticipated a much larger demand. There are stacks of this game at most stores. And like Tales of the Tempest, they are just trying to get rid of them. I agree, the numbers are not horrible, but for a well advertised, Nintendo developed game, it did pretty bad.

I think it will- not really any games coming out for a few months+ Nintendo throwing out SPM and BBA.

It could get ugly.
