I won't make a snarky comment about Super Paper Mario. :) Might as well get used to the waggle future.

Wii hardware's gonna be HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE.

Didn't we get hardware numbers already? Or was that for the week before?

8. NDS / New Super Mario Brothers - 52,000 / 4,420,000

Will it reach the 5,000,000mark in 4 months?????

BELIEVE IT!
One would say Super Paper Mario and New Super Mario bros are helping one each other. I didn't see such a strong comeback, as I didn't see Super Paper Mario doing these great numbers.

That was for the week before. We'll have this thread's week of hardware tomorrow.

It warms my Nintendo Fan Heart to see this. They sold roughly an extra 30,000 Wii sport's Golden week then the week prior. Should indicate an increase in console sales

I want to see at least 150k Wii hardware sales for this week

It just seems so unlikely that the other numbers would be off by double..

Barf_the_Mog

powerless or are they? o_O
Wasn't "the first DS game to reach 4 million" crown stolen from Mario by BA2 and Pokemon? I think it'll be the first to reach 5 million.

I think BA2 got to 4M less than a month before NSMB. But Pokemon was the first to 5 Million.

First to 6 Million still up for grabs! Will Pokemon DP (without the third game) or NSMB get it? DQIX? Who knows.

New Super Mario Bros. back in the top 10. Awesome.

do we have tracking for weekly Wii Sports : Wii Hardware and an average?

I think someone else has done it and its about a 56% Wii Sports to Wii ratio usually.

Impressive numbers for NSMB. Are the numbers for Wii's Big Brain Academy higher or lower than expected?

Sony should've pushed the PS2 a little longer in Japan with how big the userbase is. These Nintendo dominated charts are amazing, and probably will continue until the heavy hitting Jap PS3 games come along in Q3/Q4.

So Wii sold about 85,000 units last week?

Wii sold 102K Units week before GW with 58,000 Wii Sports sold.

This week Wii Sports sales jumped almost 30,000 Units so You could see Wii jump 30K-50K

I am not sure what they shipped on BBA, but I am starting to wonder if that final fantasy game is healthy enough to block HEALTH.

At this point, I'd expect it to continue until a heavy hitting price cut.

I thought it was a bit higher? Just above 60%?

Yeah..I think you're right. So by that, Wii should be at what, 140K?

Up from last week by about 38%, so I would say higher than expected. Looks like all the Wii titles got pulled up by much larger HW supplies than normal.

Someone link to the PS3forums thread, or create one if it hasn't been done yet :lol

Just took a look over there. they are using ******** numbers etc so pointless to link. Hell the numbers they are using don't even correspond to what was known for the week before and they claim lower sales of hardware are actually higher then the previous week

Exactly. And another common trend is that whatever happens in Japan, macro-wise tend to filter out to the rest of the world, even if a year late. DS vs PSP in the western world was close, in fact, PSP had a legit chance of winning in the USA, but the DS still pulled away and never looked back. I think the Wii as a worldwide market leader, even surpassing PS3 and 360 install base combined twice over, is now a very probable reality more than ever.

I'll really be pissed if SE pissses on the Wii this Saturday.

Well, let's say 360 ends up with 30M and PS3 with 20M..I guess its conceivable that the Wii could have a 100M. Didn't the PS2 have similar dominance?

Because the numbers we have indicate much higher Wii and DS hardware availability than normal: I'm predicting a Nintendo-system exclusive top 20.

360 should do 40 million, PS3 should do 30-40 million, or more if they can fix themselves.

Even if we lowballed both and said 30 and 20, there is no way to say that Wii will sell 100 million units with certainty.

I agree its probably not probable at this point, but if its the clear winner of Holiday 07...I think it has a good shot.

Could potentially be more than that if SPM turns out to be a modest system seller since its leg is pretty respectable. SPM(more hardcore oriented) buyers could be competing with the Wii Sports buyers(causal/non-gamer oriented) for the extremely limited Wii stock.
