I think Biohazard 5 can make it to 1 Million in Japan when you combine versions.

Using Famitsu:

[PS3] Biohazard 5 - 509,000
[PS3] Biohazard 5 Alternative Edition - 140,100
[360] Biohazard 5 - 123,800
[360] Biohazard 5 Platinum Collection - 500

Total: 773,000

Alternative Edition shall continue to sell, and then Capcom will issue a PS3 budget version. I think within two years, Biohazard 5 can be close to a million units if not beyond it. It'll certainly get there when the inevitable Wii and iPhone versions hit! :lol

seems like Alternative Edition gave them a lot more money than what DLC would... what was it sold @ (and what was original?)

MSRP was 4,990 and 8,800 yen, respectively.

Thedrill blog has PS3 above Wii.

I want actual hardware leaks. Waiting a day is too much...

Wow - major bump from RE5:AE, or major drop-off for Wii?

EDIT:

Ah, so there might be more to it than just AE. Thanks, schuelma. Looking at the figures, it seems as though - assuming they're correct - Wii dipped a bit and PS3 bumped a bit and they met in the middle, with PS3 just edging out Wii. Next week will be interesting...

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.

I could be wrong, but I think this week was the PS3 250GB.

thanks - so this is really smart of them... i expect a lot of companies doing this in the future then. Especially with markets like Japan and Europe where not as many people buy DD content like DLC. So hats off to whoever thought of this.

I am going to go for the Wii versions, but I sure hope they remove Sheeva parts, since I don't think my son are going to play it co-op with me, and playing with the proven idiotic PS3 AI level is a headache inducing experience I can do without.

yeah but torne is not this week, right? I dont think 250gb on its own is valuable to anyone in japan... not before torne is released, and then it is another story of course.

Nipponichi PSP affairs outside safe Disgaea ports are really biting them. Sad to see, and its not like overseas will help at all.

I'm going to damage control on this a bit since I've been following Classic Dungeon a lot (playing it, reading the 2ch thread, reading the developer blog, reading the wiki) I think it really needs to be stated how incredibly low budget and content-lacking this game is (it's still a good game...but it feels half-finished; 2chers are saying it's similar to Shiren 1 or Toroneko 1 where it is very budget and barren and is more of a base to flesh out into a real meaty game in a sequel).

-The game has about 6 enemies (not including color swaps) that have about 4-5 frames of animation and you can make their sprites yourself in the sprite maker in about 30 mins. There is 1 boss that is color-swapped throughout.

-The soundtrack is SIX TRACKS

-There is only about 20-30 pieces of equipment and 20-30 spells. You get them all in the first 30 levels, or 5-6 hours of the game. After that there is nothing. It's like the game is incomplete.

-The main story has about 20-40 1-2 min long dungeons. Think the size of N+ levels. You can clear it in under 10 hours if you know what you're doing.

-The random dungeon is randomly created out of 6-8 floor types and the 5-6 enemies I talked about above.

-There are no voices. The entire game is just the dungeon floors and 1 town screen + 3 houses you can go into.

Everyone on 2ch is complaining about the extremely low content amount in the game. This is not a Disgaea type game with 300000 hours of gameplay. By 10-20 hours you've seen everything the game has in content and the rest is just playing with stats. Even there, the max level is 99 unlike Disgea type games where the max level is like 10 billion.

The game was made by System Prisma who is owned by N1. It really seems like N1 didn't give much of a budget at all for this and it was probably made after Dot Game Heroes was announced/released in a short dev span. The only other games the company has made is an ADV game and I'd guess Classic Dungeon budget is probably about the same as the ADVs'. If ADVs can profit at 3-5k sold, I'm sure Classic Dungeon is profiting at 7-10k sold. It sold 75% of the shipment and even Sony's Bara Bara. Heck, it outsold Last Rebellion (which surely cost way more to make) by almost 3:1.

I think N1 is pretty happy with Classic Dungeons' sales.
Now Zettai Hero on the other hand is a MUCH higher budget game made internally by the veteran SRPG team and features full voice, lots of animation, and tons of content. I'd guess Zettai needs at least 30k sales to profit. Anything below 30k is going to be a bomb and if it falls below 20k, that should rap it up for N1 ever putting original content on the PSP again.
