To be fair, globally Zestiria was surely a significant uptick in sales. Now I understand why Tales sales are decreasing each new release... the battle system is something I can't deal with... it is so chaotic, boring and hateful.

First impression from Splatoon was that it was something that could have potential. It ended having mich bigger potential than expected. I didn't have the same impression from Arms.
Stopping the ultra grinding can be a start lol. The fact that Disgaea is filled with sooo much grinding is what scares me and many of my pals into playing the game lol.
Question to JapanGAF.
Are there any JRPG like the fanservice Cross Edge this gen??? I did loved the battle system (I know I'm weird lol) even when the game didn't do shit to explain it to you (NIS can do better in that part).
It'll be tough since the only Disgaea game Nintendo fans ever got was D1. NIS had a safety net(overseas sales) for the initial release of Disgaea 5 but I doubt that's gonna be there this time.Considering Disagaea 5 bombed pretty hard on the PS4, I really don't see how it could suddenly find a receptive audience on the Switch. I'd be happily surprised if it did though.
To be fair, globally Zestiria was surely a significant uptick in sales.
I meant more the battle system... are threre any Cross Edge sucessor?Huh the only cross-over RPG I remember this gen are the Project X Zone games. I don't know if they're good (I'm guessing not really)

I have accepted that you have a terrible taste in games
100k would probably keep NIS's lights on for the generation.
I'm honestly not sure what to expect from it. 20k LTD would be bad by series standard but decent compared to the original release.

Now that I watched Arms more carefully, maybe it will be in better situation. If Nintendo pushes it, even if it doesn't take off, it could be an alternative until Splatoon 2.
wow, surely D5 is getting a lot of attention here in the MC thread, for being a (what?) 100K seller?
I'm honestly not sure what to expect from it. 20k LTD would be bad by series standard but decent compared to the original release.
remember the great senran kagura debates?
Guys acting like they gave a care about that franchise's sales...
Well the original Senran Kaguara sold way more than it should have considering its genre. It was quite impressive at the time which is probably why people talked about it so much.

I'm honestly expecting worse. I really don't see the game selling well even as a launch title.

eh it was the 3DS vs Vita aspect for whatever recent game that was.
Not much more that that imo.
Oh you meant Sk 2 vs the musou clone. Yeah that got a lot of talk indeed.
To be fair, I don't think many of the people heavily discussing games sales in these thread care that much about them. It's just "fun" to discuss that kind of thing.
Cool I will check that.Record of Agarest War 2 is the only other game with that battle system.
That's a box quote right there. Now that I watched Arms more carefully, maybe it will be in better situation. If Nintendo pushes it, even if it doesn't take off, it could be an alternative until Splatoon 2.
I'm relatively optimistic for ARMS, but I'm relatively pessimistic for the Switch. If the system does well enough, I think the game will appeal to Japanese players.
Lastly, App Annie said that average revenue per user (ARPU) has been increasing significantly. Japan stood out, as the top 30 games in Japan monetized over twice as effectively as the top 30 in the U.S. This was almost entirely driven by the Role Playing Games (RPG) subcategory, which accounted for roughly two-thirds of Japan's top 30 games by revenue.
While Japan maintained its overall ARPU lead, China stood out in terms of growth, increasing nearly 10 times since 2014. As with Japan, RPGs were the driving force in China. However, a deeper look revealed that a specific type of RPG, massively multiplayer online RPGs (MMORPGs), was especially important.

Another highlight for ARMs, this is a "Mario Kart team" game.
Expect Nintendo to put weight behind it, especially after the universally (?) positive feedback.
.
If I'm reading blog's leaks right:
KH 2.8 - 140k
DanganRonpa 3 - 100k
How does that compare to other launches of KH remasters?
DR2's first week was 69k.Those numbers seem good(especially the latter), are they good?
Two dates announced today:
- Mario Sports Superstars (3DS) on March 30th (https://topics.nintendo.co.jp/c/article/5da6145f-6e46-11e6-9b38-063b7ac45a6d.html)
- Minna de Waiwai! Spelunker (Switch) on April 20th (http://www.gamer.ne.jp/news/201701180043/)
Fun fact: both are 4980Yen (+ taxes)
The Switch version of the game will offer a new officer creation feature using the Joy-Con controllers motion IR camera. When pointing the motion IR camera towards a target, various officers will be born based on things such as the targets form and feel. Additionally, the Switch version offers intuitive touch-based controls. You can utilize the large screen to zoom in, zoom out, and swipe, move your units during battle, and activate officer strategies.

Can't really look at remasters to be honest. For example Type 0 HD sold only 90k whereas the original on psp sold 700k. Remasters sales are way down vis a vis originals.looking at the KH "remasters" (150/90/150k debuts), what can we expect from KH3 in your opinion?
I know that the general consunsus (and I agree) is that it is more suited for PS home consoles, but can we agree that for brand awarness reasons and home console market reasons, it will not be as strong as the first 2 episode?
On the other side it could sell very well in the West imho
