Shit Wii U sales are well deserved. About time Nintendo gets some cold, hard failure. Just keep to your stubborn old ways, Nintendo.
God only knows why but I'll try and explain what just happened. It looks like some people can't take it when billion-dollar-companies get criticized and ridiculed.
Is it really that different to the way you guys shouted "Apocalyptic Scenario!", "Sony should discontinue the Vita" and would boo everytime the vita didn't sell under 10k?
I think posts like these are still just a bit premature.
The Wii U needs games, or the announcements of games soon.
Do you see the trends reversing?

I saw there were 23 Vita titles being released in the next 3 months. Given that the platform is in major trouble, I remarked that the number surprised me.
It was then pointed out that these titles were not system sellers. I responded by suggesting that had no bearing on my surprise at the number of titles being released.
You then made a snarky post essentially saying that I must believe the titles in question were system sellers than would save the Vita.
Looking back, do you feel your part in this conversation could be described as 'reasonable'? Do you honestly feel that your post quoted above is a fair summary of my position?
Yeah, the consecutive poor launches aren't good, but they've managed to turn things around with the 3DS. I'm sure Iwata and company will be given some time to turn things around in all the markets with the Wii U.
Absolutely, never bet against Nintendo.Do you see the trends reversing?
...
is "panic mode Nintendo" a meme by now?
The next Nintendo Direct and investors meeting should be fun.
The Wii U results don't surprise me at all.
It was obvious to me.
Any reason why the WiiU *won't* dominate Japan?
Do you see the trends reversing?
They could do it with 3ds because the competition is much easier for them on handheld. But on console, the WiiU is up against massive AAA line up from PS360 at the beginning of the year and the next gen announcement from both parties. It's alot more difficult to turn the tide.
Them getting an ass whoopin' in markets all around the world is going to be good if it forces them to change some of their shitty ways and thus good for consumers. And thats what I am, not an employee or a shareholder.
I think there is a decent possibility things turn around in Japan, yes.
Around to dominance? I agree that with steady software release it's market performance will get better, the question in that thread was dominance, and I thought and still think the Wii U won't get to that level.

Sarcasm?Dat Nintendo arrogance
They should be more humble like Microsoft and Sony and Apple in my opinion
Yes, everything is so obvious.

Yes, royalties will help; but the situation is still worrying. It's one of the worse lineup ever for a platform in its second year in the market.
PS3 22.991
WIU 20.715
The 3DS will own the market with huge to mid-range titles, but the Vita still has the chance to get the majority of really small titles and some mid-range successes as well.
That's was my argument as well. No console can aspire to dominance in Japan when the current trends point to handheld and mobile becoming the dominant platforms. If Nintendo will reverse the current trend, their best bet will be in Japan. Of course I don't know how sustainable having a console only be successful in Japan is considering it is the worst place for a console to have its greatest success.
Well I expect both Wii U and PS4 to hugely underperform in Japan and not reach Wii+PS3 numbers so it depends on your definition of dominance.
I think the odds are still very high that Nintendo is the best selling console this generation. Now how big a prize that will be is still up for debate.
A lot can change depending on how Nintendo handles it. If they don't release any games that people need in the near future, it will keep selling like crap though. When it has been failing for as long as the Vita have (at least a year) I'd be sure that it's a failure.
WiiU is obviously in big trouble, world wide and in Japan too. And seriously, what can change it's fate now? A price drop? I don't think that's the problem. New game announcements? I don't think they can show anything that can pierce through the PS4/720 hype that is starting to build up and will onöy increase at E3 time.
Reset. And do it right. Open the war chest and use the money Nintendo. Super Wii launch 2015 with better hardware than PS4/720.
Didn't you just say this would be the last Nintendo console? How is less competition in a market good for the consumer? Unless I give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you meant it'd be the last console where they had region locking, no universal accounts, etc.
Don't know why I would, though.
I'm not calling Wii U a failure, it's too early for that, I just stated that the trends indicate that it won't be a dominant console as a lot of posters expected.
You forgot flood of games (Nintendo 3DS Conference), big productions (Animal Crossing New Leaf), worldwide releases (Pokémon XY), exclusive third-party games (Monster Hunter 3, Graces, Samurai Warriors 3, etc). That is simply a myth.
Panic Mode Nintendo simply means "a price cut" and nothing more. It always happens when one of their systems has a bad launch.
Dat Nintendo arrogance

Panic Mode Nintendo is much more than a mere price-cut.
I'm looking forward to Nintendo's FY Q3 2012 earnings release later this month.
With it there might be a slew of new Wii U announcements.
The stock can't keep dropping...right?
