It's a game and being released on the Vita.
Typically that's reason enough for it to be considered a "savior" of sorts, tbh.

Maybe for a short while, and that's a rather big maybe, but a sustained momentum long enough for you to claim that it will be enough to elevate Vita to a healthy versus situation against 3DS? *Especially* with Pokemon around the corner?
This is from a ported game that is also available in a widely healthier platform with a much bigger userbase?
Or tell me this, what is exactly your definition of a healthy competition for Vita in terms of its struggle against 3DS? Maybe your definition is healthy is starkly different than mine.

I seriously doubt so, especially since ffx is not exclusive like p4g.it will have a slight bump with little lasting impact.you seems to forget that ps3 have both ffx and x2 on one disk while vita have them separated .
personal view but I do not like the changes they made to the character models. I will view the voice drama on YouTube later.
I think the nicest bump Vita will see soon it's the LCD Vita. Because hardware always gets a boost from new colors alone, this being a lighter model with slightly better battery life should do okay. I'm not sure what's going to happen with Vita TV, but I don't think it's going to outsell LCD Vita considering Japan has made it clear that they're not that much into a) Home consoles, and b) Vita's library.
I already tried making a bet with someone but they turned it down. But if you are up for it, alright.
When FFX Vita releases, the Vita will see a rise in sales above the 3DS for that week.
after that, vita starts to gain momentum thanks to FFX and the other titles released after that.

I think God Eater 2 has a bigger chance of giving the Vita momentum than a 10 year old port that is also coming to a much more popular platform.

The other thing to consider with the Vita 2.0 is that the OG 3DS is launching new colors the same day, too, on top of limited edition models, and a pair of Pokemon games that week. There's a chance it'll just get swallowed up.

Can you even hook up with ANYONE in the game at all? I'd go for Saki. Wasn't the second OVA supposed to come with the game? I wonder how that would impact sales.

How exactly is FFX&X2 HD alone supposed to make the Vita sell more than the 3DS with continual sales from Monster Hunter 4, Pokemon, One Piece Unlimited Red, and Puzzles & Dragons (plus the old 3DS titles) for even one week? I could understand if it was an actual new title or had a bunch of new content (like a Crisis Core perhaps), but as a HD remastering of a game I don't really get it...
