Hyrule Warriors is possibly the most successful Musou game ever worldwide(or close to it). Not a chance will FE Warriors come close. It will however probably be more successful than the vast majority of recent Musou games.

Dinasty Warriors 4 did over 2.2Million worldwide, I don't remember HW getting close to that but maybe someone does.

Yeah I don't think HW did quite that well(the 3DS release would have cut its sales off) but it was very successful, especially by modern Koei Tecmo standards.

Difficult this week, but I say ~70k.

It'll be a good test to see what happens to SW sales. It seems like reducing and now practically eliminating the splatoon 2 bundles has had a positive impact on other switch SW. Hoping to see some of those games get a bump this week.

It's still amazing just how many people are lining up this weekend. I'm really hoping Nintendo is saving up a big supply for SMO week because it feels like they coul ship 200K+ consoles and sell out no problem.

It did incredible, one of only two global million sellers from Koei Tecmo on Gen 8 plaforms. The other one was Ni-Oh. Funny enough both were also 1st party published in the west.

HW is the fastest selling Musou in the US (over 400k in it’s first 3 months, retail only), that may be what Oregano’s thinking of. It’s likely beaten DW4’s previous record ltd (550k) by now too.

I would love for Fantasy Life 2 on Switch or at least Scifi Life lol. It would be interesting.

Wonder how it did in the west. It was the last of its kind, being by technically both Brownie Brown and its successor Brownies (for the Link expansion).

Brownies should do more on Nintendo hardware, kind of surprised (slightly :p) that Arzest beat them to Switch, having put out Boost Beast on the eShop, and yet as said Brownies is the successor to a Nintendo 1st-party dev.

Buy Arzest already Nintendo, ignore the haters lol! XD

Fantasy Life sold a million globally so it did relatively well in the west. A nice under the radar success for Level 5, it’s a shame they flushed any opportunity to follow it up directly.

I don't know if Nintendo would reveal SFC mini numbers along with the SNES Mini for the next quarter results since SFC Mini releases in October 5th but we'll get to find out earlier anyway thanks to MC numbers.

Fire Emblem Warriors will do better than Hyrule Warriors in Japan, I think that much is probably certain. Worldwide is unlikely though. I should check out the import impressions. Everything I've seen looks great, even though I've only ever enjoyed One Piece Pirate Warriors in the past.

Everything g seems to point toward a lower performance than HW in Japan. Especially if we count the 3ds Legend port

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

First week sales...lets see how it looks after this Holiday season when Switch is approaching 5m units sold.

Yup
let's see.
I still struggle to see Switch magically giving huge legs to "normal" games, even during th next holiday season, honestly.
People tld this also about MHXX compared to the MH3G the Wii U got, but with lower first week sales, even with better legs, it's not that the LTD result is going to change THAT much, imho.

Its not like im expecting FEW to sell 200k suddenly....but we have to realize that Switch is still under 2m units sold and many people will pick up a system in the upcoming weeks...and yeah some of them will be FE fans and might get the game after they have the system.

The questions is how the second-hand market will look and if the provided DLC will be enough to somewhat contain the effect. For a game like FEW even a coupld 5k per week sales during the Holidays would be enough to increase the overall performance by quite a bit.

Switch at 1.8m now and will be at +4m after these Holidays. This will have an effect on already released games.

Switch holiday sales will save FE is the new ''digital sales will save X game''

First off the game doesnt have to be "saved".
Second...not really its common sense that games have longer legs early in a console cycle when the userbase is expanding at a faster pace - especially during the Holidays.

Then again people see a game like Pokken DX having a 40% sell through and thinks that means it was overshipped when retailers and Nintendo are all just preparing for the strong year-end sales.

With a ~50k FW it has zero chance of outselling both version of Hyrule Warriors combined.
It'll probably beat the Wii U SKU but that's not a great achievement.

It also strikes me as a mildly appealing product to put it nicely, it's basically Fates+Awakening Musou with a few cameo so traditional Fire Emblem fans might not be too fond of that.

I didn't follow it closely (saw a few trailers and TGS live presentation with Midorikawa) but nothing made it stands out as a Musou, Zelda had a lot of game modes, Arslan had a few gameplay gimmicks, Berserk had its dark overall atmosphere, Kyojin was vastly different etc.
I saw nothing that made the game stands out in itself, I might be wrong but so far the not so hot sales it seems poised to have FW don't seem to contradict that, and the Switch install base excuse isn't that valid when you have a New 3DS SKU that will apparently bomb pretty hard.

Warriors games fatigue exists whether the userbase is at 2M or 5+M.
Even if it has a good IP associated with it.

Yeah, this is why they're trying with Open world for Dynasty Warriors 9. But are they going to do anything else like GaaS features to keep the game giving you new things to do long after launch?

Otherwise, it's hard to tell whether it's going to do good or not.

Since people are reporting more Switch in the wild at US stores and available at more online shops like Amazon, when do you guys think, we should expect Japan to show the same up turn of stock?

Don't act surprised when someone accuses you of fanboyism or attacking the Switch with senseless posts. Holy shit is that a new low level post, my god hahaha

(Cue "it was a joke" to save face ;D)

There seems to have already been an upturn in stock, however I doubt that stock will catch up with demand until after the holidays here.
