The weaker and bulkier system is a hit hardcore platform and fans are waiting for a proper FF remake. It would sell more than 1 million worldwide for sure.

Anywho 3ds doing great as usual..vita good hold (wonder if it will go up next week with that gundam game/bundle coming), wiiu sales suck but expected since there's a bundle coming so next week numbers should be good..I'm guessing 40k+...

I really hate the FF mobile revolution but saying saying that a 'proper FF remake' would be possible on the 3DS as opposed to modern smartphones is laughable to say the least. Especially when one considers the power differences between the two.

Just for actual comparison, what did the Vita revision come with a couple weeks back? Dangan Ronpa I see. Anything else worth noting?
I personally thought a Vita revision that's slightly better/worse for the same price and with new colors wasn't going to do anything. However, the Vita went from like 5-6k sales to 60k for that week. Since Pikmin 3 alone managed to get the Wii U over 22k, my hope is these pretty decent bundles do at least as well as Pikmin 3.
My prediction is 23k. Being that Wii Party U/Wii Fit U are the games coming out that week (and with the bundle), I could see some people at least think it's a good deal and pick it up. Is Nintendo advertising this bundle or Wii Party U at all in Japan?
I'll be pretty happy if the Wii U goes 30k+. If it's below 15k, I think the Wii U is pretty finished unless Mario 3D World & Taiko magically turn the ship around. Btw, did anyone notice that before the bundles were announced, the Wii U was going up a slight bit? Were there any releases to justify that? Was Wind Waker HD before or after the bundles were announced?

I wonder whether it is possible to rejuvenate the Wii U though, it is now consistently below the PSP. Well, the christmas season will tell. If it cannot sell in December then it is time for Nintendo to think about a successor (I think they could release a system in 2015 which has at least similar specs to the xbone, which might mean next gen ports are possible).

Well, we only found out that Animal Crossing would be enough AFTER the holidays. Come to think of it, it was a pretty impressive feast, though I believe it would've done even better with another major title. Actually, that's the reason I believe the 3DS can do even better this year.
I don't remember sales data for BBDX, but a Rhythm Tengoku in 2014 is pretty much guaranteeed imo. I mean, the previous game was released in July 2011 iirc, so having one released in Summer 2014 would be cool (though it's true they might go with a Wii U game instead).
I wish it's on 3DS, personally.

What? No. It is the best ps+ out there. They give you over 120 free ps1 games, plus lots of free vita, ps3 and psp games.

I thought you implied that, if not then sorry. To be fair at most SE will do a FF VI CC remake if they were do it on 3DS or Vita, do nothing major to be honest. According to SE mobile is the land for remakes. Having seen the numbers they sold that were in one of the MC threads before I strongly disagree but that's SE for you these days. Why not? If companies like XSEED and Atlus can make money off miserable sales numbers for games which they actually dub and localize in a market where those games are sold for 30 bucks, I'm sure Sega is making money off Sonic games in Japan which are localized and sold for 60 bucks.

yet sega does not localize phantasy star, yakuza, shining, or valkyria chronicles games
That's probably because Sonic is developed in Japanese so the only added cost would be the voice acting.

For Japan HG/SS was 2009 and B/W 2010.
Oh right, well still getting so many pokemon mainline games in the past 4 years without anyone noticing is pretty big.

Yeah true, but if you look a little more closely HG/SS are remakes and then you have Black/White 2 which feel more like an alternative to a "third version" like Platinum, than a full new generation Pokemon.
True that. I am by now means saying they are churning out new generations now faster and trying to replicated the AC or COD model. Just that there seems to be a new mainline pokemon game every year now and the sales haven't really taken a hit by it at all.

Yeah I guss we will. I doubt they'll slow down anytime soon though. I can see Pokemon Z out next year, then remake of Gen3 and then Gen7 in the next 3 years and then Gen 7 third game.

I'd be fine with a few remakes as long as Gen 7 is a few years out. Do you think they'll still be a full platform behind similar to Black and White? Perhaps whatever they do after 3DS will have Gen 7.

Well, let's look at the NA price drop numbers. Assuming Wii U continued selling the 7,750 weekly average until the Sept 20th price drop, and that the Wii U sold 95k in Sept, then the Wii U sold 73k over the course of
30k should be achievable, but I don't know how desirable the Japan bundles are compared to the $300 Wind Waker HD Deluxe pack.

Gundam Breaker will do really well because there is Gunpla Build Fighter anime helping its promotion. My guess is 50k-60k next week and then we're counting down to Vita's holiday megaton aka God Eater 2 + Vita TV.

I think X/Y being 3D/on 3DS also helped it to keep interest.
However, continuing to put mainline games/big remakes/expanded versions out on an annual schedule could definitely hurt the series in the same way Level 5 does their stuff.
I think just about the only thing to break the '3rd game' cycle that Pokemon employs is if they move it to another platform, like Pokemon Z for Wii U.
He has said he would buy it the moment he finds it cheap. So I hope he wasn't lying

While you do have a point, it is pretty well known that the SE efforts on mobiles have been supbar. I don't think FFV looks as bad as people say, but it could look a lot better. You could argue that they didn't really succeed in mobiles with their FFV "effort" either. Between 50 and 100K downloads on Google Play and ~91K on iOS.
I don't know how Aquamarine got those estimates/algorithms, but they seemed fairly feasible. I was also not impressed by any of those numbers, though SE obviously sees some potential there. Maybe they think if they can get 50-100K download for pretty much a ROM dump, they might as well do it? I am kind of hoping they will put some effort into their DQ and FFVI-VII ports, but most likely not.
I got FF Dimensions on Google Play. It was okay, but no way am I playing an RPG with touch controls again. Fucking digital buttons, my fingers hated me after that game.
What I don't get is why they just don't do a general dump across all platforms if that is their plan. The people who like games like Dragon Quest aren't really on mobiles.
Just saw the rankings for last week eshop downloads. Sonic was a little better than rayman, getting sandwiched between art academy and dqx. Assuming dqx sold something like 1k (which is a little farfetched, since its an old game) we are probabky seeing sales of a little more than 1k, since it still didnt outsold art academy.
At least its better than rayman, who didnt even win against dragon quest on its launch week.

Unless they make "my little kinect can't be this cute!", the Xbox one will never overtake the WiiU.
I think Nintendo needs to do more than these bundles. That and the new Mario will just provided a small bump for the time being. I know the indie scene in Japan is small compared to the west, but I think Nintendo should try to help boost that up in the region.

3DS numbers coming in November will not be pretty compared to last year. The 3DS had Animal Crossing in early November and the first party software is looking barren for the end of 2013. I hope Nintendo will be able to recoup that loss with Puzzle & Dragons release in early December as I sincerely believe it will be a success.
Lastly, I'm shocked that Nintendo did not announce the release date for Mario Party. It should be an early December release and could cross 500k by year-end if it releases during the holiday period.
I hope Nintendo achieves 5.5 million 3DS sales by year-end.
