Media Create Sales: Week 46, 2011 (Nov 14 - Nov 20)

Will online sales from Nintendo site count in MC?

Zelda 25th 3DS Japanese version announced, online order only, 5/12 release
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/zelda25th/hardware/index.html

We can assume it will sell out completely almost instantly. I wonder how many units they'll be shipping?

Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo gives the data to Famitsu/MC. They're always referencing their numbers.

if its below 250k any week i'd be shocked (unless there's shortages)

Prepared to be shocked, as it will be below 250k for at least one (or two if the stupidly low MH shipment rumour proves true) of the December weeks.

I'm not sure it'll do quite that good, but it's possible. That would mean at least 1.25 million sold over 5 weeks, though, and that seems to be a bit much.

However, I think 3DS will easily cross 4 million by its first "birthday," which is really shocking considering how it started off.

I really wouldn't be surprised if it sells in excess of 1.25 million over the December weeks. DS/Wii pull insane numbers in the few weeks surrounding Christmas.

The Zelda race between Ocarina in 3D and the Midna's Twilight.

[3DS] The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (Nintendo) - 182.998 / 462.126 / 39,60% 16/06/11

[WII] The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo) - 145.068 / 554.109 / 26,18% 02/12/06

EDIT: Amazon watch.
Hatsune Miku preorders started, and it's both first and sixteen, with the limited and the regular edition
So far, the 999's sequel is available for preorders only on Vita, and it's around the 70th position.

Nendoroid miku is so cute :P I wonder how much the game will sell compared to Project Diva?

Also I think OoT 3D will end up surpassing Twilight Princess when all is said and done, it'll probably take a while though.

get6-2 estimates Zelda's first week at 200k range, everyone can guess what's the overstocked title of the week.

Meh, I always thought the LBX robot designs were kind of ugly.

Eeeeh, the fact is that now, everytime I see a game about little mecha, I think of you and your love for Medabots XD

Wow. Shocking.

I saw so many ads for that game during prime time. I was expecting at least a 200k opening. When a Level 5/Ghibli combo can only sell that much, it's time to pack it in.

I wonder how it would have done on the Wii? Probably the same or less but then again maybe the target demographic for that game just doesn't have PS3.

Yeah, I find it hard to imagine that all those schoolboys whom I saw the Magic Master with last year would be likely to own a PS3.

So guys, it's agreed that the sales estimate I had hoped Ni No Kuni would reach in the west will never be brought up ever again, right?

On a system that has been dead compared to one still selling pretty well for it's age.

Welp, Level-5 am doomed
Well lets wait and see. They did phenomenal on the DS so I'm curious how they will fare in the leap to next gen with the 3DS. Layton underperformed on the 3DS ,imo, but then again wasn't it supposed to be a DS game up-ported and the 3DS in general was underperforming until September. Although Layton and Inazuma have been slowly declining because of the yearly entries.

Are they developing DQX or is another developer? I'm pretty sure it's the latter but...

I think I read somewhere that DQX is in-house at Enix.

I've got three questions.

What price did White Knight Chronicles 2 launch at because that game managed to sell effing 180K or some crazy amount first week and everyone knew Level 5's deal back then.

What are some other games on PS3 that target kids and corresponding sales, like maybe a Gundam game or something?

Finally, where is duckroll, shouldn't he be here gloating and further trampling upon my heart. Cuz these sales are a goddamn disaster.

(not including spin-off Gundam games like those old SD Gundam Force and 3 Kingdoms games)

yeah that's what I think I was referring to, I thought there was a Gundam something that's more kids focused.

it is weird though that I can't really think of any other PS3 games that are "all ages" right now, it's obviously not the right demographic but there's gotta be something.

Ni No Kuni is disappointing.

One 3DS game in the top 20 selling 60k, but still 100k 3DS sold. Wow.

Nice bump for the PSP just before the Vita comes out.

Well, there's actually a bunch of "all ages" games on PS3. They're just all published by SCEJ like Modnation Racers, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet, Hot Shots Golf, Ape Escape (though the Move game shouldn't really count I suppose), and My Summer Vacation.

Thanks, it seems like many of those had higher first week sales than Ni no Kuni too right? I just don't get why the sales ended up being this disastrous. White Knight 2 sold like three times as much. Surely there'd be at least 100K PS3 owners who are graphics whores at least?
