Well in the next week or two Vita will start to fall behind what the PSP did after its launch. So I guess you can decide from there the level of doomed-ness.

Edit: To put some figures behind that the PSP did 110,741 in its third week for an LTD of 352,295. The Vita's LTD after its third week is now 439,986. But fourth week sales for the PSP were 132,757, and I somehow doubt the Vita is going to get a 90k bump next week.

The boxarts are a nice touch.

Very good for 3DS, particularly considering it's not had any compelling software launches for nearly a month. MonHun inches away from the million mark; looks like it's easily going to surpass Capcom's 1.2 mill by March prediction.

Vita's alright; certainly not as bad as some were predicting, anyway. How it holds up against Nintendo's packed Q1 lineup will be the real test.

I have the saddening feeling that the Wii's never going to reach these heights again. The road to Wii U starts here.

In what universe 40k is reasonable for 3rd week after launch?
To me it seems that it's failing to replace the PSP...
And only two top 30 selling games is crappy, 28th and 29th...

DS is completely dead, 3DS replaced it completely.
On another topic, will the PS2 sell after the PS3 is dead?
Ouch Inazuma, I guess that franchise is dying already...

It looks like the 3DS is going to have a gigantic lead over the vita by the end of this year. Seeing these sales side by side can't be too encouraging for 3rd party devs considering making games on the vita (especially when it probably costs a decent amount more to develop for). The software sales don't paint a much prettier picture. Sony really fucked up big time by releasing this late again.

In terms of software it looks like FFXIII-2 is showing some impressive legs. It will probably still fall short of a million but it is looking better than it was.

MH also showing some good legs this week. Looks like it should easily surpass capcoms expectations. Mario kart is a beast as expected. Mario 3DS slowed down a little but is still showing great legs for a 3D entry. Nintendogs is still charting, it will be interesting to see how long it can stick around for.
