Why is Media Create delayed this week? Shouldn't we have had numbers a few hours ago?

And you assume this based on? That Japanese gamers are easily duped into buying games in genres they're not interested in?
What was Wii's installed base when it did those S&P2 numbers? You can bet it was far higher than 3DS's current base.
For meltdowns, I assume.
Hopefully it will be a wake up call for SCEJ.
An old, overpriced console with 1 new release this year selling better than the next Sony portable would be very laughable

There is no delay, there's still 1 minutes to go from the normal time. For whatever reason Media Create publishes their results at exactly midnight.
S&P2 was also in a different genre from Kid Icarus: Uprising with less marketing and less IP awareness.

I'm thinking they usually show up around 8:45 to 9:00 AM central time. I suspect daylight savings time has something to do with the hour later?

Install base has little to do with it, it's more about positioning and pedigree. I think Star Fox 64 3D probably makes for a better comparison anyway, though even that's not great.
