Megaman Network Tranmssion appreciation thread

The game sold decently too, on par with those shitty X games Capcom keeps pumping out on PS2. In fact it's Arika's 2nd best seller this gen (outside SFEX3 at PS2 launch)... a sequel would be a no brainer you'd think. :/

Yup, I loved it. Best Megaman game since X2 IMO and probably the best game Arika has ever made (though I am not that familiar with their portfolio outside of SFEX). Best music in a Megaman game since MM2.

I would love to see a sequel to this and PN03 come out for the Cube.

A new NT with an upgraded chip system and adding Soul Unison would be great. The chip system gives a fresh feeling to the combat.

I really wish I could get into that game, but I just can't. I just can't stand the overly complicated (relatively speaking) chip system. Plus I found the controls to be a tad bit stiff.

But yeah, the music is outstanding.

Soul Unison would be an outstanding addition to the NT style of game. Actually, Soul Unisons would be very similar to boss powers from classic Megaman.

I, too, am a huge fan of this game, and disagree with practically every complaint I've ever read about it, particularly the ones about the difficulty. The fact that it got slammed for its graphics always really bothered me, too. I think it looks super. And the music, of course, was off the charts, as Hosoe's stuff usually is. It easily has the best Megaman soundtrack since Megman 3, and that's coming from someone who is actually a big fan of a lot of the more recent (Zero, Legends, .EXE, even Battle & Chase) sequels and spinoffs.

It's too bad that so few people enjoyed it. :(

Any game that straight up punishes you for pressing a button on accident deserves to rot away till $5 firesale day. The no cancelling weapon switch thing got to me so bad, combine that with an insane amount of laborious dialogue and a first couple bosses from hell and I so don't want anything to do with this stinker. I'm sorry I don't want to have to use a fucking sword the rest of the level because I accidentally pressed Z again while adjusting to the controls.

I've been meaning to pick this up for quite awhile. ANd I regret not buying that 10 dollar copy of PN03 a few days ago, but to my credit, I would have been broke. And I really don't feel like digging in my couch for loose change for the next week.

I almost loved it, but like most 2D games with 3D graphics the collision detection was beyond sketchy, and Mega Man felt way too floaty. The world design was great and the integration of Battle Network elements into the action was classy. Unfortunately, the little things made it slightly too frustrating to play through in its entirety.
