This season, all three men face a number of roadblocks on their continuing journeys through midlife, but they know they can always rely on their friends to see them through. Joe (Ray Romano) is a divorced, slightly neurotic father of two who runs a party store and recently overcame a gambling problem. After some early missteps, he is getting more into the swing of the dating scene and has now decided to rekindle his dream of becoming a professional golfer, training for a spot on the senior tour.

The only married man in the group is Owen (Andre Braugher), who is devoted to his wife and family. Having spent much of his adult life working under the thumb of his domineering father, Owen is finally starting to assert himself more. He has even convinced his father he's ready to be groomed to take over the family car dealership, but is struggling with being the boss.

Terry (Scott Bakula) is a laid-back, handsome actor who seems to breeze through life (and women). But following disastrous attempts at managing an apartment complex and trying to resuscitate his acting career, Terry is searching for stability and now sells cars at Owen's family dealership.

In its first season, MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE was one of ad-supported cable's Top 5 new series of the year. The show went on to appear on several television critics' year-end Top 10 lists. Earlier this year, Braugher earned an Emmy nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series.

Am I the only one of GAF watching this show? I really enjoy it and this season is off to a good start. We're 2 episodes in but I'm sure you can catch up on all the usual places. TNT doesn't seem to host their own episodes on their site, unfortunately.

No love for this show ? ( unless theres another OT thread , I apologise if so )

Happy its back from its Hiatus , something good to watch over the summer period :)

Sucks that hardly anyone watches this, it's absolutely brilliant. Probably in my top 3 favourite shows on right now. Last nights finale was terrific, all three leads acted their socks off. I hope it doesn't get cancelled. The ratings this season were apparently really bad :(

Oh no!

Yeah I just finished watching. Great finale to a great season.

If this show got cancelled I'd be so incredibly bummed out.

I've enjoyed what I've caught of season 2. I didn't really get on board with this show until the last couple of months, but damned if I didn't enjoy what I saw. I hope they do another season, since I'd like to see how each of the characters will change. BTW, did Thoreua Sr. end up selling the car dealership, or was he just saying he was going to? It would be interesting to see what Owen would have to do to if he no longer had his job, but I'd miss the car dealer characters like Lawrence. However it seemed like the father and son came to an understanding at the end, so I'm guessing Sr. didn't sell the place. Also I wonder if we'll get more interaction between Manfro and Joe in a possible 3rd seasn. It ended kind of bad between them, and I wouldn't mind to see if they could patch things up between them. And then there's the budding relationship between Joe and Nina and of course I wonder if Terry's relationship with Erin will survive his new career path. Oh well *sigh* if there's no third season, it's not any worse than the fact that Terriers was only given one season. *meh*

great great show....

but I'm sick of all the indecision...

eg:

going to play golf not going to play golf going to play golf not going to play golf.... oh wait....

thunderstorm out of nowhere

going to play golf >_>

season 3 better be the "going to get shit done" phase

Incredible show. Such a shame no one watches it.

I hope it survives on critical acclaim, but I'm not sure if that's likely at all... :(

changed his mind at the last minute

Scarpola must be pissed....

blue balled by father and son

Loved the entire season, would be a shame if it got cancelled. But yeah, the flip-flopping got a bit tedious by the end.

I love love love this show.

Me too.

The finale was great. I hope TNT brings it back for another year, but given the disastrous ratings they'd be completely justified in canceling it.

Loved it as per, wish there was more Joe in it, hopefully he's not written out if theres a third season

Trying to find the dont think twice it's alright version they used . sounded so clean compared to the ones I have :(

Honestly, didn't see that coming. Especially with an Emmy acting nod from yesterday

Men of a Certain Age isn’t getting any older.

After returning to low ratings, TNT has declined to pick up a third season of the acclaimed series about a trio of middle-aged men. The news comes a day after co-star Andre Braugher scored an Emmy nomination for the show and helps make room for the network’s new drama, a reboot of 1980s hit Dallas. Here’s a statement from the network:

“TNT has been proud to be a part of Men of a Certain Age for two seasons. While the show has featured great storytelling and impeccable performances, the audience simply hasn’t built to the point where we can continue the series. This was an extremely difficult decision for us. We wish Ray Romano, Mike Royce and the terrific cast and crew of Men of a Certain Age the very best and look forward to exploring new programming possibilities in the future.”

Fuck, are you serious? One of my current favourite shows, I've been following it since the beginning. Powerful characters and storylines, great elements of humour, and overall just very enjoyable.
I kept trying to get people to watch it but nobody wants to watch something with "that guy from Everybody Loves Raymond." Screw them, I love ELR, my favourite sitcom of all time.

How unfortunate. Even though the show remained somewhat outside of my demographic, it was still my favorite new show (well, that and Justified) of the last couple of years.

A post-cancellation interview about the show. Joe making it to the senior tour would have been great, but oh well.
