Messi and teammates agree to 70% salary cut during full extent of pandemic to help club workers.

godhandiscen

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.
From our part, the moment has arrived to announce that, aside from the 70% wage cut during the State of Emergency, we are going to also make contributions so that all the club's employees can earn 100% of their salaries for as long as the situation lasts.

This guy is never ceases to amaze me.

The act is incredible considering what is going on in the rest of the world and the selfishness shown by players from other clubs that don't understand that without some concessions the leagues could just stop existing. The prime French newspaper that covers Football dedicated tomorrow's cover to Messi*

*: Please ignore the Che Guevara, it's stupid to associate Messi with the guy.

What heroes.
Duh, they clearly didn't reject the proposal. Otherwise today wouldn't be news.
Also, I didn't know Juventus players did it too. What the reports say is that your owner forced them.

Ronaldo remains the true GOAT while this midget chump stays moaning in the corner.
I didn't think this would bait anybody, but lol.

Please stay mad. :messenger_blowing_kiss:

My owner? What are you babbling about?

Barcelona players rejected the pay cut. It was widely reported. They have now 'accepted' it because they had no other choice. Didn't stop Messi whining about it, obviously.

That is fake, read it from the New York Times. The narrative was built by the media. In his letter Messi states clearly that it was the players who made the first move to take a pay cut. You can read the translation by the New York Times.

He posted it on his Instagram apparently:

Our club president confirmed that this came from Messi:

If Messi told you to shove your head up your ass and inhale, it appears that you would do so, gladly.

Every sports media outlet ran with the story that the Barcelona squad rejected the 70% pay cut. That they have now been embarrassed into accepting it, doesn't make the initial reports untrue.

There is so much anger in you.
If every sports media outlet told you something you'd believe them then?

The Barcelona club president confirmed it was Messi who worked this deal and made the first move. The media in Spain is controlled by Madrid, they ran the story you posted.

Messi told me the first day that he would take a pay cut

Hang on, the Barca president is siding with Messi?!?!?!?! Wow, that's completely unexpected. It's almost like he knows his job is entirely dependent on keeping saint Lionel happy.

Learn to read "news", your article doesn't even have a quote, name or credible info:

"Barcelona players have reportedly rejected a proposal from club leadership that would have significantly reduced their wages throughout the coronavirus pandemic, according to ESPN."

You click on ESPN:

"Barcelona's players have rejected a proposal to have their wages significantly reduced as the club seeks ways to minimise the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic, sources have told ESPN."

I'll take the word from someone who puts their name behind what they say any day over "sources".

Ah right. So all of these reports are made up. I expect Messi and Co will be taking legal action against this shocking libel then, correct? Yeah, didn't think so.

You will take anything that Messi says as gospel because you're a hopeless fan boy. Look at this thread. You're weak at the knees because a guy worth nearly half a billion finally agreed to take a pay cut. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Tell me, is he still ducking his taxes?

But the difference is, they're still getting payed.

A lot of people are still getting paid.

If you work an hourly contract or are self employed then obviously it's unlikely there will be much work for you at a time like this dependant on your industry. For people who are still employed and are working from home, these people are still getting paid their standard wage. Some companies have forced pay cuts (like these footballers have), or have even told their employees they are being put on unpaid leave, but these people are not being forced to work from home.

Poor dude.
Now he basically has to cheat on his taxes again if he wants to be able to eat during this difficult time

Lol they could stop earning money and would still have enough to last few lifetimes. Great. What a saint

70% less and still more in a month than I will ever earn in my entire life.

Though good for the other people working at the club and assuring that the people can keep their jobs :)
