Superman | Full Trailer

Nah that's too easy, acting like that you can do whatever the fuck you want without being consistent and just go "hey it's a CBM". There are rules you need to respect because if not you can't emphasize with what the characters are going trought.

You're talking to someone who loves Superman 1978. A film where Superman turns back time by flying around the world super fast. I don't care about the physics of him swooping in to save people without breaking their necks.

I spent a lot of time in Cincinnati when they filmed some extra shots last year, and even was paid as a background extra. Apparently most of it was filmed in Cleveland. I'm excited to see it!

Yeah, there's also the fact that Man of Steel shits on all of Gunn's movies from thousands of meters away. And not only did Snyder not want to give in to nostalgia and use Williams' theme because it's too easy, but Zimmer created a masterpiece in its own right.

See? Opinions....
I see merit to your views and I never want to take away from good things about Snyder's DC films (and I think there are great things about MOS through his Justice League). I like the more fantastical-toned-comic-book tone for Superman rather than MOS' more sci-fi take (which I think has appeal, and I like how the movies eventually had kind of a LOTR fantasy feel to them in his Justice League movie). Ever since I've gotten into Superman, I also enjoy his interactions with other heroes (and I appreciate Zack got straight to the point with this with Batman and Wonder Woman with his films). So the tone and embracing a world of super heroes that Gunn is going for is just more up my alley. Again though, I don't want to take away at all from what Zack accomplished. I appreciate what he accomplished. I also liked the tone of Superman Returns and I think it has some killer scenes.

Soooo first teaser got 58M views, and now the trailer is at 21M after 3 days. We know that views are at their best in the first 24 hours and it's only getting slower and slower after that. I can't see it going above 35M.

Looks like people saw the teaser and "noped the fuck out" and didn't even watch the trailer. I honestly expected some big, big numbers like at least 70M views but here we are.

Some context: the MoS trailer from 12 years ago, so much less people on Youtube (800 million in 2012 vs 2.5 billion now) has 51M. BvS is at 79M and even Aquaman has 66M and I'm not even talking about Godzilla Vs Kong which broke everything with 109M. Joker: Folie À Deux had trailers that reached 34 and 37 million. The Flash is at 32 million & Blue Beetle 31 million.

I've talked on another forum that what will make or break this Superman is the GA, and it looks like they don't really care? These are only views on YouTube, it's not enough to judge the future success (or not) of the film, but... yeah, I'm vey surprised.

I don't know how much it affects the views but its odd that they chose a shot that was in the old trailer as a thumbnail for the new trailer.

Yeah, the drop off from teaser to trailer is definitely eye catching. Going from 58M to potentially capping under 35M is not what you'd expect from a major Superman reboot. Especially with how much Warner/DC is banking on this to reset the tone of the universe

Maybe the GA doesn't care about Superman right now. And if that's true, that's an even bigger problem for WB than trailer views

Still, I wouldn't write it off entirely based on YouTube views. That's just one metric, and algorithmic stuff plays a role too. But yeah… if Joker 2 can pull 34M+ with a niche musical tone, and Godzilla x Kong nukes the numbers, then Superman underperforming is a bad sign

Lots of negativity but I don't care... It looks great and I'm excited for it... And Superman is probably one of my least favorite heroes
