I indirectly saved a kitten today, there was a truck parked out in the street and I could hear it crying somewhere and it was on top of the back axel. It came down for a second and before I could grab it it ran up into the engine bay (because of course 
). I let the owners of the truck know but her husband had the keys so we could not open the hood at that time. Just went back to check on kitty and they let me know they got it out. They put some food and water out for it outside the shop but I could not find it. I'll keep and eye out when I'm passing, it was a cute tiny brown kitten. That's my good karma for today.

Some colleagues from overseas are here this week, though they return later today. It was an interesting visit as for one of them, it was the first time in the US. Additionally, I found another one is an audiophile and produces music on the side. He gave me an artist and and recording to check out that he produced, mixed, and mastered.
Also promising was that the head of my portfolio sector (second in line from the CEO, kind of hard to explain without oversharing details) asked if I would ever be interested to work for him in Europe. My boss had posed this same question to me about 6-8 months ago. I will still need to deliver the current mega project I'm working on now but maybe some exciting opportunities later down the road.

I think the best way to deal with this is to make a thread in the gaming forum throwing a massive tantrum about it. That usually gets a productive response.

Posting on Reddit is almost always not worth your time. I like the website for its niche communities but politics there are a hot mess, even when I agree with what is being posted. The upvote system creates an echo chamber to the max. This is why I prefer forums for actual discussion.

Ya, I am not happy about it either but there's nothing that can be done for now. I worked off my angst during my workout. Tons of things to do around the house and then dinner with some family friends. Best thing to do is take that energy and put it into something good.

I decided not to take that Amazon job, BTW. If anyone cares. The money was OK, more than I earn now, but not enough to live in or outside of Seattle in my opinion without having an impact on my quality of life.
My partner also wasn't down. She put on a brave face and was supportive, but after more discussion it was clear to me that she really didn't want to move to the Pacific Northwest so I respected that.
