Just a minor tip in case ya didn't know fellas, but if you hit the square button while aiming you will switch between primary and secondary weapons.

Thanks for this, didn't know that. So many useful tips around here:

Square while aiming = changing between primary and secondary weapon.
Be prone and hit R2 = hug DD.
Prone + triangle = goes into stealth prone.
While sprinting hitting R1 = knock out enemy with a punch.
Bottom left corner of touch pad brings you directly to the AAC after a mission.

Yep, found that med bay cutscene on my own totally by accident as was like WHUUUUUT.

Didn't read your spoiler but what do I have to do to see this scene? Can it be missed?

"Boss, you've entered a building."

Kaz, bubby, I know it was a nine year coma and all but come on. Like I seriously expected him to start trying to explain to me what a building is ("In other words, you're not outside anymore").

Ug, work is stupid. I took the last two days off to play MGS V. Didn't even read this thread or much of anything else because it was like well I could do more running around Afghanistan with Boss or I could do...anything else. Boss won every round.

This gonna be a long day.

I didn't know how this happened but I'm broke. Too much research, too much base building, too much, air support and switching companions (THIS really takes too long and costs too much. I want to adapt to changing scenarios)...

As I mentioned earlier, there are so many things I really don't like about his game but I can't stopt plaing it though. It's just so much fun!

As for other open world games, they always start to bore me after a time and I lose focus on what to do and reasons why I do this. V just keeps me going, I don't know how as there is still very little story but gameplay mechanics are so motivating.

Gotta get back, gotta make some cash

I have the cash problem all the time too. I have a ton of research that still needs to be done but I'm just not raking in enough GMP to do all of it. On the other hand, it means I need to prioritize and not just randomly click every possible new research item that comes up. That also means I actively read discriptions to be able to make choices, so it really helps immersion etc.

I'm the opposite. The lack of cutscenes makes me bored. I didn't even though the game yesterday but I do plan on picking it up again tonight. It's just too big.

So yeah, haven't been paying much attention to GAF since the game came out and the threads move so fast there's no way I'm reading everything, lol. So if you don't mind a couple of questions that have probably been gone over a hundred times:

Are there different difficulty settings at all? Looks like you can't replay missions in hard mode like GZ, is there a NG+ or something later on?

Also, is there anything to do on Mother Base? I'm up to main mission 13 and I have been so busy doing missions and side ops that I kind of ignore what's going on back at the base. Like I do all of the base management from the iDroid and then occasionally the story forces you back to MB and I'm like OK, it's a base. I saw a jeep so I drove around to a couple of the platforms but it's just a bunch of doors I can't enter so am I missing something?

Another gameplay tip and I thought this was a great touch:

Whilst prone, if you hit R2, snake will perform a horizontal slice with the knife. So in that split second moment when an enemy spots you, you aren't totally defenseless when your natural reaction is to attack with r2. Brilliant.

Put Quiet in a good sniper spot and you never have to worry about it ever again :D

Oh-oh, here she comes
She's a maneater

Haven't gotten to put a ton of time in as I'm playing through with a buddy. I've been collecting soldiers and resources when I'm alone, as well as indepth radio listening. I'm micromanage guy and then we tag team all of the story missions. Just found the puppy and a translator.

^This is all well known stuff, no? I'm wanting to be very careful about spoiler tagging.

so I guess now S-rank doesn't come from being fast and well hidden but from doing alot of stuff that gives you points?
SRank IS mainly based on time, the quicker you are the more points you'll get. You literally can just run in, fuck everyone and everything up and still get an SRank.

Without spoiling anything does the story pick up at any point?
I'm about 20 hours in and I feel like I've seen almost no story.
What mission are you on? I personally feel the number of cutscenes picks up around mission
20-ish.
But, a whole lot story is still in the tapes, which keep unlocking at a steady pace after that.

What did you see at the end?
Edit: Double post
END GAME SPOILERS PLS DONT CLICK AND SCROLL PAST THIS POST AS IF IT DOESNT EXIST:

you play the hospital mission again, but at the car crash, instead of disappearing, Ishmael wakes up before you
and meets ocelot, who has the Triumph bike and a leather jacket ready for him. He takes off his bandages and reveals himself to be
Big Boss.
The Snake I was playing as is the Medic from the chopper, who originally looked like the avatar we made at the start, but underwent plastic surgery, and in my case, became transracial, to become a 'phantom' Big Boss.
^If I should remove this and PM it instead, tell me right away.

And if so, be honest, yay, nay, or meh (polarizing)?
It's pretty cool IMO. Wraps just about everything up and Doesn't seem to introduce any plotholes for future games in the canon.

Has it been explained what the bars are that show up during cutscenes?

Not sure I know what you are talking about although I'm only like 5 percent in lmao

Edit... I am slow and somehow read 'black bars' when you said bars..

I attribute my slowness to staying up till 2 to play

Man, the grading system for this is way more lenient compared to Ground Zeroes. I effed up a mission so hard having to restart at checkpoint 3 times (in the final run, I restarted mission like 3-4 times before that) and it still gave me S-rank.

How good is it? SoGood.gif

My mind was (((((blown))))). A video game haven't blown my mind like that since playing the ending of Assassin's Creed 2! I only played part of the intro, I'm about to play it some more tonight. I'm gonna savor every nano second of this masterpiece!

My Japanese premium edition has finally shipped, now i'm goin g to worry myself sick until it gets here. (i have very bed luck with the post)

Congrats man! I know the big red hand version is ultra rare! I hope it arrives to your address very soon. I'm hoping my shinkawa steel book edition arrives tomorrow. Like I said before, my collector's edition just seem so naked without it.

Thank you :)

Welcome back, it's been way too long. (also your CE looks so badass!)

I want to show a friend of mine some tpp songs, but can't find the one, I'm looking for and am not at home right now.

If I remember correctly, the name was "behind the tapestry" but can't find it.

So I'm looking for Xbox 360 player impressions - anyone else playing on last generation? How does the game feel?
Stuttering's pretty noticeable but at least I've never noticed the frame rate crumble. ~25-30 FPS always. The draw distance is a ton better than GZ, where flora would pop-in five feet in front of you. However, instead of horrid loading, here it's the aliasing that looks pretty terrible sometimes. 95% of the same textures and effects are present, if not running at their best of course. So technically, I'd say it's about as good as last-gen GTA V is. But unlike GTA V, functionally, it's the same exact game. Totally solid and perfectly acceptable in my book. It's probably the best last-gen AAA port there is.
