Metal Gear Solid V announced (PS360, open world)

Having just seen a MG2 run, the Boss' face is never shown entirely so it's definitely possible for them to put that horn in there and say he always had it

I don't see why you'd think it would be there for any sequels, this will be a plot point of the game and probably dealt with during the story.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but has anyone noticed that at one point in the trailer, there are two people riding the flaming unicorn? It looks like the barefoot kid from the elevator and some mysterious masked figure

one person

Edit:
Here is a screencap from the original Phantom Pain trailer, showing only one person on the horse. I always assumed the unicorn scenes were the same between TPP's trailer and that of MGSV.

This is a good find. I have been meaning to take a closer look at this scene but it looks like you beat me to it. I thought it was only one figure with a distorted face moving around and going in and out of visibility like an illusion. The part I am impressed with the most is the two sets of legs on the side. I never noticed that before. Its funny that the litte Psycho Mantis figure seems to be the one in the front of the horse.

Yeah my guess is it's Psycho Mantis, and the bigger figure is his "protector".

And even if it is an illusion it is probably a distorted image of something real because BB has a shotgun and he is shooting at it. However, maybe the gun is a hallucination too.

I also agree with the theory of BB's rescuer being Ocelot.

This isn't surprising. That kid can levitate and go through walls. This flaming unicorn and the person riding it are illusions. Probably one of those scenarios where the kid will appear at times, as if playing with his toys.

Kind of what I was assuming about that guy being the kid's protector. Thought it was interesting because there is a very similar scene with the flaming unicorn in the original Phantom Pain trailer, but there is just one person on the horse.

Fire guy in the hallway had horns, Big Boss has a horn.

Ocelot and Big Boss are both riding on a horse in the trailer as well. It looks to me like the guy on the back of the flaming horse rather than wearing a mask might have a beard and bandaged head. Maybe Big Boss is fighting projections of himself, the ogre within? I guess this could tie in with Ishmael being a projection as well.

That shot where it cuts to him takes place in the GZ trailer, which is before he gets in the coma. Also, he isn't older, he is actually younger, by 9 years. Kojima has said that his hair isn't old and grey in this image. He said that it is the lighting that makes his hair look like this.

Take a look at the images from this scene that are done in his daylight version. His hair is dark and he does not look as old.

Where is the second scene from?

Well if they can't remove it, it'd be weird for him not to have it in the other games.
If they can remove it, why leave it there for 9 years?

I cannot believe yall forgetting Kojima is a Masked (Kamen) Rider fan? The Fox/Xof thing is from Kamen Rider Black/RX-Shadow Moon polemic. read into it as you will.

i know this is old and probably mentioned 1000 times, but I finally got to be back on Gaf after being away from the computer for a few days, but seeing Big boss with the shrapnel/horn made me realize why they named it "Project Ogre"

:)

ok continue... :p

I don't think that is the point here. Yes, it is a piece of debris that got stuck in his forehead, but it is obviously there for a symbolic reason too.

In reality it is debris. Symbolically it is a demon horn.

As for why it is not there when he is present in games that take place in the future, that is not hard to do. It was probably removed at some point.

We know V in the title stands for Victory. But what does V stands for in "V has come to"? Who is that V person that regained consciousness?

Its obviously V for "Vic Boss", and he surely regained consciousness after 9 years in a coma.. You haven't played Peace Walker, right?
