I was very skeptical of the game. It always looked to me like reskinned persona, real time combat sounded out of place and I didn't like the character design. This video turned me into a believer, looks absolutely insane and everything I want from a JRPG.
Finally new and unique enemy and "persona" designs instead of carrying the same known ones game after game which gets tiring. It also solves the issue of having waaay too many personas which is both overwhelming for the player and also leads to very simplistic and generic animations since they have to animate 200+ models. Archetypes is everything I've ever wanted from a modern persona game and didn't know it until now.
The only issue that remains (for me) is the main characters that don't look particularly endearing and especially the main character that just looks generic for lack of a better word. I wish there was at least an option for a female protagonist or something.
