P3 > P4 > P5

Any true Atlus fan knows this is true
P2 Duology (story only, gameplay is meh) -> P4 -> P4G -> P3 FES -> P3R -> P3P -> P5 - P5R -> P1.

Personally Raidou 2 and SMT III are also some of my favorite Atlus games depending on the mood.

Are you looking on Metacritc? Those 34 reviews are just for PS5.

Just seems like many outlets passed up on the game?

For comparison: SH2 (68 reviews on PS5), FF7 Rebirth (151 reviews on PS5), Astrobot (135 reviews on PS5), Dragons Dogma 2 (91 reviews on PS5), Star Wars Outlaws (91 reviews on PS5).

Maybe more will come which would be good to give the game more coverage.

Take notes Square and make FF great again with turn based combat system…

Nah let different artists at different development houses create what they want. No need to make everything the same. 7R's combat system is wonderful. As is Metaphor's, DD2, and Like A Dragon's too.

I don't necessarily think so. It's just a very long game, and it will take a while for most outlets to finish reviewing it. If we revisit this in 2-3 weeks time, I bet the game will have 100+ reviews spread across all platforms.

In any case, good word of mouth will have a greater impact on the game's sales success than the sheer number of reviews.

I don't usually watch trailers due to spoilers, but that was cool. The part where someone is going to kill the MC and the chains appear is a spoiler of sorts, but I guess it was obvious since it's the MC.

GodDAMN I need this game asap.

That sorta thing happens in the demo to someone so that at least makes sense it would happen to the protagonist

My hype for this game has somehow been restored after being really disappointed with the demo. I disliked so much about it at first. Wrote a pretty lengthy rant that I decided to hold off on posting before giving it another chance, or three.

There are still some things I don't like about the game and others that are unacceptable, mostly technical (somebody please buy Atlus an ultrawide monitor) but I'm warming up to it and I sort of can't wait to really get started.

That said, the UI and VFX are obnoxious. It's as if a bunch of ideas were thrown on the table and they used all of them. It's way worse at 16:9, which I'm forced to play at. Don't know how people do it.

Also, does this kid have to grunt every time he sprints?

Still excited for the game though.

A bit disappointed about performance, but I did read such impressions in the demo thread. I ended up deciding to keep my preorder, despite some doubts about translation, too.

In the end, I do enjoy Atlus games, and will give them the benefit of the doubt for this one.

Along with Silent hill 2, I will purchase this game. I have finish Stellar blade and still playing FF7 rebirth. Now I will have a more good games to play with SH2 and Metaphor.

I hope for the success of Metaphor to save gaming from Western twisted woke agenda games.

English too. Try headphones if you can. The zero delay bothered me too, but like I said, I think they are just inserting that confirmation chime where the dead space should be.
I just wanted to mention that I think I found the cause.

I play using 5.1 speakers. The dialog comes from the centre channel. The click you hear comes from the main speakers. This is why I didn't hear it, as it was masked by the music, and I am listening to the dialogue from the centre.

So, if you are using stereo speakers or headphones, I guess you will hear the clicks mixed with the speech.

i tried to go the game at hard, but put it to normal. i always wuss out. I don't mind harder difficulty, but it being game over if you get sneaked and start a turn late sucks.

I bought the game earlier today and I am really enjoying it so far. I quit for the day right before the funeral. I had a little problem before the boss before the dragon but that was because I didn't have a mage archetype. I put that on my protagonist, got the ice spell and it was easy from there. I also killed the dragon right afterwards.

Got to the second town, yea, I'm liking this. My protagonist build is a mess though, I keep jumping him to whatever new class pops up to see how it works, instead of just focusing on a path

I really wanna play this but no way i'm gonna spend over 100 hours to finish it. I hardly make 100 hours on my favorite games so how i could i tackle this behemoth?

"Time flies when you are having fun"

Seriously. I hit 80 hours and would have never guessed it had been that long. I do not usually enjoy games that are overly long. When the game is genuinely a joy to play, you don't watch the clock.

Finally got it on a sale. My Persona 3 Reload playtrough is taking too long because I grinded those stupid gems for the ultimate weapon. I hope that this game does not have bullshit like this and I can accomplish everything on a single playtrough.

Just about finished with Eiyuden chronicle hundred heroes, going to grab Metaphor next on PC. P.S.A if your looking to get it on PC most places have it on sale for Black Friday.
JRPG arc continues so many this year I love it, reminds me of the PS2 era a little bit.

The review we've all been waiting for:

I take my hat off to him for his honesty, it's better to openly admit that you don't like a certain genre of games than to try to portray something in order to please the audience. :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Yeah he tore it apart and kind of highlighted all the things I dislike about most JRPGs. They're not for everyone and I'm glad he was honest.

That being said, I'm not sure why he chose to review it since he knows he already doesn't like those types of games. Was he being asked by his audience to review it or something?

Restart feature in battle is incredible

Really makes it much more enjoyable

and getting a game over just sends you back to before the battle instead of last save point is a life saver, you still get the argh, i got destroyed, but it doesn't punish you so hard you want to take a break.
