Kojima confirmed it on IGN, MGS V is indeed coming out in 1984 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Hey maybe he's referencing the book Nineteen Eighty-Four's release date, June 8!

Haha, this interview started off really similar to the Gamespot one but I'm glad he at least got a few more questions in and got him talking a bit more

Witcher 3 won IGN Game of Show? Damn, people are crazy.

How come? I guess it's to do with CPR giving us an amazing trailer AND showing more than just a few seconds of new gameplay. Keep in mind that this award was given by the viewers, not the IGN staff. It's nice to see that a basically self published game from a comparatively small team gets that much recognition.

Glad you got your ass kicked in that shitty movie.

Serious answer: How do we know The Witcher 3 really won? show me the receipts

You're right. I don't like the look of the game personally but I hope it does well.

Go to amazon.com and purchase MGS V: GZ

I'm so sorry

IGN announced it right after the Kojima interview, they had a CPR guy on stage. But like I said, this is the viewer award, not the "critics" award. Those will be out in a couple of days, after everyone managed to get some sleep.

And it's the best movie of all time!

The good news is that the Japanese Kojima Station is a weekly event and tends to provide us with new and relevant information. Here's hoping we get thirty seconds of footage next Thursday!

The demo started off with the scene with ocelot talking to big boss on horseback. It ended with a peak of big boss walking around mother base. The presentor told us that everyones mother base will be different because you build it from the ground up.

It was great, ask any questions you have

Was the flight to Motherbase from Afghanistan seamless or between loading screens?

On scale from 9.5 to 10, how would you rate it?

Being serious now, any graphical upgrades that you can notice or does it still look rough in parts?

I'm getting more hyped as all these awesome details pour in from the closed door demo, but I'm also getting more worried about how long it's going to take them to finish the game. It just sounds like there's so much in it, which is great, but makes me think we won't get it until 2084.

How do the sheep function during a base invasion? Can we tactically deploy them to ward off attacking forces?

Yeah, I feel the same. :(

What was the spoiler in the beginning which no site wants to reveal? Please spoiler tag but it's probably nothing.

Thank you.

I dont remember the exact dialog. Ocelot was telling big boss that kaz was captured and he expects him to last 3 days and that kaz's team of soilders got killed brutally. Ocelet handed big boss kazs glasses and stated that kaz will want these when you see him.

Oceleot also told him to forget the past and return to being "Big Boss"

Im on my phone so sorry about me taking a while on posting

Thanks for sharing! (Not only this but answering questions, as well.)

I don't know if you read what a guy on reddit, who was lucky enough to be chosen to see the demo, noted(few pages back on this thread)? He said that at some point during the demo, the player missed a headshot on purpose while in reflex mode, which didn't trigger an instant alert. Can you confirm that, or did it look like instant alert to you?

yeah its true, the missed shot didnt trigger a instant alert which suprised me

I'd rather he just ignored that whole mess and/or eventually retconned what it became in MGS4.

On the Big Boss arc discussion, I like that we are getting these games after MGS4 crippled his character so much and tried to show him as being a good guy all along. I want to see him get dark and become evil, bring back Big Boss as he was meant to be.

All of MGS4 should be rectonned. That game never happened to me. It felt like what would happen if The Patriots AI of MGS2 made a Metal Gear Solid game.

So why do soldiers who get fultoned join Big Boss? They get tortured or what? Everyone magically becomes buddies?

I think this aspect of the game is lazy. The idea that you can't make a recruiting system fun unless you make it this gamey is wrong. It could be much more interesting if there was actual to depth to being able to recruit people or steal equipment, not just attach a dumb balloon. Like if you want to steal a jeep, you have to call a transport chopper, which is more likely to get noticed, and actually drive it into it. But since it's more difficult to steal, it provides an opportunity to carry more people who you might have freed. Stealing a big cargo truck is really difficult because it's slow, but it could carry a lot of merchandise and people. If you free a prisoner, you could give them a weapon and they can try to make their way out on their own, but if you want to increase the chance they survive you could escort them to the chopper. Also the better the items you give him, the more likely he is to manage to escape. If you want to make it easier for your chopper to land, you could destroy some military hardware/depot/alarms/radars, etc. If you want to recruit a doctor or engineer, they are much less able to survive, and they might be so valuable that you would set up a rescue mission where you actually call for support to secure an area and capture or recruit them. Some might have a lot of loyalty, so if you capture them you have to torture them in the base to force them to work for you, but this reduces moral among your soldiers, so you must find people who are less loyal or find ways to change their minds with other methods, maybe through propaganda. You could take over radio stations to broadcast propaganda in the game world, reducing loyalty.

That to me would be a much better way of using a sand box world. A balloon is too much of a shortcut that gets around trying to actually make the whole concept deeper.

When interrogating soldiers, do they speak out what they say, or is it still mumbling?
