Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 will, for the very first time, be available for the public to play at gamescom this year! Both titles are hugely anticipated, so this gamescom promises to be a fantastic one for Konami fans!

Attendees of the Cologne-based expo can explore the vast world of The Phantom Pain, realising their own strategies when approaching missions and looking bad-ass in the process, before moving on to try out the most realistic and outright fun PES game so far: PES 2016. These two very different games each take advantage of the FOX Engine’s power superbly, and illustrate it’s sheer potential in delivering top quality titles.

KONAMI presents METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN and PES 2016 at gamescom

Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. has announced its highlights for this year’s gamescom, as the publisher showcases the eagerly-awaited METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN and PES 2016 at the Cologne event.

The games represent huge advances in the action and sport genres, and celebrate their world premieres at gamescom in Cologne as they are shown in playable form to a public audience for the very first time at KONAMI’s stand (hall 7.1 / B030).

In METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN, the million-selling series takes a giant stride and sets a new standard in stealth-action. A huge, open world setting sees the series’ famed sneaking elements greatly expanded, while a host of new characters – both allies and enemies – tell a story driven by revenge as franchise protagonist Big Boss enters a series of battlefields following the deaths of his colleagues. METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN is brought to vivid life with realistic weather patterns and day/night cycles. Thus, players can adapt their tactics to match the changing environment, creating an intuitive and non-linear gameplay experience.

PES 2016 marks the series’ 20th anniversary season and celebrates its landmark achievement via the new tagline ‘Love The Past, Play The Future.’ The slogan heralds the series’ return to core values and a focus on the many new gameplay and presentational elements that will further establish the series as the definitive football experience. From further integration of the industry-leading Fox Engine to bring the on-pitch action to life and the full commitment to centre the product around creating the best gameplay experience. Every facet of the game has been enhanced to deliver yet another outstanding product, including the full redesign of Master League.

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN will be released on September 1st, and PES 2016 on September 17th. The gamescom show will be held in Cologne from August 5th-9th. Further details and information about KONAMI’s activities and presence will be announced soon.
