MGSV:TPP LAUNCH TRAILER

I just hope if there are video game awards, that they mention Kojima, and Kojima Productions but leave out and NEVER mention Konami at all. See how they like that.

I don't think they'd get away with it... but, Kojima isn't going to be able to collect any awards for this game. They won't let him.... that makes me sad, because that entire team deserve every single award they'll get for what they put up with to finish this game.

Guys, I've heard about the
whip
and the
Big Boss into Skullface transition
, are there any more spoilers in this trailer?

A simple "yes" or "no" is cool with me.

No, there are no spoilers without context.

However I just re watched both 2014, and 2015 E3 trailers. The post credit scene is in the 2015 Trailer already, and the lead up is in the 2014 trailer.

So you can spoil that part of the game if you put the scenes together

I'm glad the overtop, batshit stuff is still very much alive in Metal Gear Solid V. This is why the Metal Gear series is my favorite. I can't wait to see what Kojima has in store for us in terms of boss fights which haven't surprisingly been spoiled yet in the trailers.

Cut the front part and focused on BB running away

Trailer was a little sappy for my tastes. And I'm pretty sure the Snake transitions were just illustrating Big Boss' descent into the villian and becoming what he was fighting against, not literally suggesting that he's Skullface himself.

The whip/sword on the Metal Gear is the same colour as that whale and Volgin apparition from the other trailers

Seems like a clear indication to me that scene isn't as literal as it appears. Maybe a hallucination

Pscyho mantis/whatever the hell they're calling him/her is visible floating in the sky above the Metal Gear, so that's very likely.

The scene is real and not a hallucination. Ill stop right there

If you think the Big Boss turning into Skullface is true, then you are falling for one of Kojima's weakest ruses imo

I think Kojima is saying that Big Boss is not literally Skull Face, but rather, over the course of events in this saga, will turn evil/jaded like Skull Face due to his horrible life experiences and his lust for revenge at all costs.

Woah. That first half of the trailer was amazing. Second half was too, but I kind of wish I hadn't watched that scene before launch.

Do people really think BB is Skullface because of that? Come on now, people.

That same scene is in the E3 2015 trailer, so only those on a true media blackout havent seen it, and if they are they wouldnt enter this thread

Is it? I saw the E3 trailer, but I don't remember it. Oh well, not a huge deal, I'm just more excited now.

Yeah, and you see the pilot too if you pay attention.

All this trailer footage is so extensive you could stitch much of it together. I've kind of spoiled myself from things by doing that in my head.

Love it when people get so antsy over spoilers when:
  • They are not sure if it is a spoiler or not
  • They are not aware that it was already shown/suggested/hinted earlier
  • They don't know what a spoiler is

Launch trailers are always entertaining post-trailer.
I had someone send me an angry PM over making a joke about what "beast mode" was in Bloodborne despite the fact that it was 1. Obviously a joke, 2. No one in the world knew what "beast mode" was or entailed, and perhaps most importantly, 3. There is no beast mode in Bloodborne.

Probably the coolest designed Metal Gear in the entire motherfucking franchise. Like, holy fuck talk about keeping it fresh after 8 canonical entries and so many rehashed models.

so, next to being the source of Quiets character model, Stephanie Joosten also did mo-cap and her own character's themesong. That's pretty neat.

Finally watched this...

The legacy. The feels.
The Metal Gear Epyon.

Can't wait for the 1st. I have a buddy going away for work and I pity him having to try and dodge spoilers for 2 weeks before he can play for himself.

Nice-spoiler free- (unless you wanted to wait and see what the Metal gear looks like)

-Skullface thing seems just like a framing montage-not so much more than that-

This is what I thought. Because it makes no sense thinking the other way.

The real spoiler was Metal Gear Shamalamadingdong. Just like one of my Japanese anime!

I love mgs but story wise it doesn't make sense, that Metal Gear with the sword would have been impossible to achieve at that time

They also have wormhole technology and shit. It's probably best to just remember that at its heart, MGS is techno-fantasy.

The idea going on at Reddit is that the plans and whatnot for Metal Gears was destroyed upon the dawn of the later games. This would explain the Peace Walker and MGSV Metal Gears appearing more advanced than REX, or the MG Metal Gears. Then, Hal might have found a bit of his father's schematics and built REX in the shape of this Metal Gear, without knowing that there was more to it. Besides, Hal wasn't attempting to build a weapon of destruction when building REX.

Also, Metal Gear RAY was more advanced than these. In terms of movement, they blew it out of the water, and speaking of, they were water-capable as well.

Nothing in Metal Gear makes any sense whatsoever. The story is like a conspiracy-theorist-hosted Japanese game show.

Nothing will ever be as good.

Rex looks outdated even in the game it appears in alongside a super powered cyborg and stealth camoflage. 2 years later they've got Rays up and running.

No, that makes too much sense. Big Boss is OBVIOUSLY Skullface.

Jesus.
