There's literally characters who, without nanomachines, can use telekenisis and conduct lightning into a weapon.
And itty bitty lasers, small enough to be attached to a handgun and used as a sight. In 1964! Yeah right Kojima!

Kinda off topic -- but just thinking about it, did Volgin's electricity powers ever get explained? I don't really care if they did or not, but in a game with such masturbatory exposition, it's interesting that it isn't covered.

Don't believe so.
A fair few characters don't get much explanation tbh, The Pain, The Sorrow etc etc Volcan Raven or Mantis.
No but I mean it's kinda par for the course I think. I'd like a little explanation too but the series just is what it is at this point. I mean forget Volgin, how about the entirety of the Cobra unit?
With Les Enfants Terribles in the mix I kinda just chalk everything up to "genetic experiments have been going on long before they were publicized".

Really hate the Big Robot Penis on the new Metal Gear. I know, it's Kojima and MGS, lololol etc, but it's just impossible to take seriously and from the looks of it, it's not intended to be funny.
Completely fair points, I guess it's just I spent more time with Volgin than the rest of the Cobra unit that I thought about Volgin more.

It's nothing new.

Some of them even have drills instead of treads/legs, spinning sideways, and still moving the tank forward lol.

Got past the Kojima penis thing long ago

Jehuty - Zone of Enders
The concept art makes it look like Robot Penis, but ingame it always looked like a part of the cockpit/'beak' (no pun intended) to me. The new Metal Gear is more humanoid (doesn't help), and Robot Penis is waay more obvious and pronounced.
Can't believe I'm having a discussion about Pronounced Robot Penis. Kojimaaaaaaaa

Japanese mechs and robots almost always have robo-dongs....even the girls
So which Snake outfit is the first one from the hallway scene? Peace Walker?
Almost always? Nope.... neh....
I think its the sneaking suit from MGS3
I don't know if "pretentious" is the word, but I'm with you. Every time a new MGS trailer comes out, people go ape shit over whatever song they used, and I always think "Really?" and bite my tongue. No accounting for taste.
Funnily enought, thats one of the few things that is true : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screw-propelled_vehicle

I think nearly all of Kojima's picks for "emotional" songs throughout the series have been duds.
Can't Say Goodbye to Yesterday, Calling To The Night, Here's to You.... all of that.
They're all really overwrought songs that never connect with me, and it's pretty odd because I love me a cheesy ballad here and there.
I ironically enjoy them as part of the strange brew that Kojima has mixed, but no, I don't enjoy them at face value.
The only ones that are good are Best is Yet to Come, Way to Fall and (recorded for the series itself) Snake Eater.
The disparity between black and white isn't enough to describe how much I disagree with you.
What kind of music do you like and what are your favorite songs?
Oh right thanks. I wish Kojima had him without the eyepatch to show the full evolution.
I saw Solid Snake in the beginning of the trailer and closed the trailer, this means we are finally going to have Solid Snake in his young age again. I am speculating, because the scene in the beginning of the trailer was from Metal Gear Solid, so I am assuming Kojima is hyping Solid Snake again.
