I repeat, why do you use the m$ symbol? it's famous for being used only by haters and opposite fanboys and i think it's banned on neogaf like all the other meme names ,you look smart you should know that.
I’m using that symbol because Microsoft has shown absolute contempt for an institution in my country, Microsoft avoid paying appropriate tax in my country, Microsoft have conducted themselves in a contemptible manner throughout this acquisition which has left my respect for them at absolute rock bottom.

And why should it upset you though? It’s a dollar sign. They are a $2.6t company, spending $80b on video game acquisitions in the past 5 years. They have a lot of money.

I'm upset you're not accurately representing them by using just one 💲

The problem is the assumption that these studios/publishers will exist in the same way in the future as they are now when we know that's highly unlikely.
I don't see SE, Capcom, Sega, ActiBlizz going anywhere. They aren't bleeding chips so to speak. Any sort of acquisition is a power move to hinder the competition, and I am very much certain at this point, that Sony will try the same idiocy here,

Nintendo didn't even buy the Pokemon devs. So I think we are good on that front.

I don't want any of the big 3 to purchase any big publishers/devs. I don't want MS to get this deal, and I don't want Sony to try the same with a Japanese company, I'll throw a fucking fit, if Sony tries to buy like Capcom or something. No buying! At all, IMO. Concentrate on your first party games and Capcom, if MK1 can get a native version on Switch, then make a SF6 for Switch.

This was my TED talk. Thank you.

While this sounds how I would things to be/to stay, industies and businesses evolve and we have to deal with that, either you choose acceptance or rejection, but there are companies driving this industry and even nowdays is completely different from 10, 20 or 30 years ago.

As a consumer you have the right to “fight” or support your cause, make use of it and support those companies you think they represent your thinking

Also the Nintendo From Software pitch was intended as a joke guys, I thought that would be obvious when I said Nintendo do could then establish a world wide Nintendo-Reich :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I don't support any company. I play on PS, Switch and PC, and later this year Imma bag a Series X for Starfield. I support games. And games sell better when they are on as many platforms as possible.

But they haven't removed any Bethesda games from Playstation? Anything that was available pre-acquisition is still available and supported on Playstation. Future games will also be released on Playstation and Nintendo on a case by case basis as stated. Does that mean no more Bethesda Xbox exclusives? Of course not. But there will be games released on multiple platforms which are most likely live service type stuff or smaller community driven games like minecraft/legends etc. No lies here, just not what Sony fans want to hear because they want ALL the games on their platform.
No, they want games that were in development for PS5 to be released for PS5 as planned, regardless of how shitty or good they are.
Sony didn't cancel the Xbox version of Marathon when they bought Bungie...

It was the first day.
They were able to paint Microsoft like a bunch of liars that have used a previous acquisition in anticompetitive ways.
What point Microsoft was able to prove yesterday in their defense?
Nothing?
FTC just needs to raise enough anticompetitive concerns to justify a PI.
They will need to leverage what the CMA has done and all the anticompetitive concerns raised by other regulators including EU itself.
I'm looking forward to see what happens, you have already decided they'll get asphalted.
Those are just Microsoft’s propaganda mantras that we have been hearing for months.
This trial is to determine whether a preliminary injunction is needed against the US acquisition of two American companies. Acquisition that sees Microsoft console marketshare (the line FTC is pushing at the moment) inevitably at a clear disadvantage globally and also in the local market. Regarding the famous 10-year (cloud) contract, that breaking point (where one of the partners can retire if it is no longer economically possible) is practically almost the standard of the market. Jimbo's email did you see it? What about ABK asking for more money otherwise it would no longer publish COD on the MS platform? come on let's say that being the ball in the NFC court their service did not score any points regarding the concern that would need to give the injunction

It's funny how you're talking about mails and you're forgetting about Microsoft's internal mails talking about putting competitors out of the market being exposed.
It's funny how you're having amnesia about all the anticompetitive things that FTC exposed about how they have handled Bethesda/Zenimax.
ABK asking more money and Microsoft conceding it is just proof of how vital COD is considered, that goes in the opposite way Microsoft would like.
Microsoft was painted in a horrible way by FTC yesterday.

It's clear that you have a completely one-sided view, not that I had many doubts given the post history (lack of actually).

Possibly MS not want we see secrects datas or Jim Ryan recorded testimony.......? (Sony requested that details of its intervention not be made public.)

The day starts disappointingly.
So one ms employee doesn't get their grilling in public, better not have Phil sealed. I want him to respond to his own collection of lies.

Phil: Dammit! The only time I didn't wear my gamer clothes!!!

Phil was hoping to use Scorpion, everyone's fave character and typically the easiest to use. FTC have clearly paid NR studios off to keep him out the stress test to have an advantage. Probs gave them a dualsense with stick drift aswell.

Phil is furious.

And mass consolidation would improve things how exactly?
The gaming industry is huge now and continues to grow. People are constantly laid off or leaving and joining or forming new studios after mergers. The indie market is the largest it's ever been and you likely will have a few incredibly successful indie studios gradually grow into a major over time. Not to mention, regulators regulating it.

I'm not necessarily worried about it.

Didn't Square Enix recently sell their western division studios? And they are taking exclusivity deals for one of their biggest ips by a platform holder. Capcom was struggling in the 2000s and early 2010s. Sega used to be a major platform holder to now primarily a Sonic, Yakuza, and Persona shop. ActiBlizz is way too dependent on annual CoD releases and sales which have been hugely successful so far, but at some point, the sales will likely wane and it will no longer be as dominant as it was, then what? I think people forget just how difficult it is to create a brand-new IP that's hugely successful.

My point is the industry and economy are dynamic and constantly evolving with their own unique challenges that all these studios/publishers will consistently be faced with varying results.
