Easy. Say something like "We have no plans to implement an always-online or online-authentication network model". And then add the usual BS about consumers "embracing" Xbox Live subscriptions. It will respond to the rumours without announcing the console.

Because all it takes to get a job 'round these parts is a shipped title. The man was a tester (worked in the mailroom) on several titles before getting some better jobs. From the stuff the GAFtectives have dug up, he's not really terribly good at Creative Directing.
But they do have plans to do this, so they would never say that. As it stands the console is designed to require an online connection, we've heard that from multiple sources.

This has been so fun watching one of the first true GAF meltdowns where there is the equivalent of an open prayer service that this destroys the the Nextbox before it arrives.
It won't over a tweet from this guy, but the free press for this system no matter how bad the rumors are spin is going to make the Nextbox reveal absolutely historic.
MS should let this one ride, because the literally could squash this entire situation like a but the millisecond they show offline gaming.
But let's say, MS was idiotic and really had no offline gaming. The negative press for this dumb decision is not only going to hurt the Nextbox, but it's literally going to destroy the whole cloud streaming idea for last gen, because you need to always be online for it to work.
So much popcorn was consumed while this thread moved at the speed of light, this is definately why GAF rules at times like this.

Well, I feel bit sorry for him now because he clearly had no clue of what he's doing and saying and he doesn't deserve the pressure and shame which is now put on him. No one does.

Imagine working with him... Even if you put out some quality stuff (which they don't really, but lets imagine it for a second), they will always have him as a drunken baboon out there making their whole site look bad.

I work as a financial consultant(I hate this job, but whatever) if I used my public twitter(or Facebook) in this regard, and it came back as condescending to my customer, created a narrative that was damaging to the company I am representing, and also posted it in a very antagonistic way if not fired, I would be in some pretty serious trouble.
Bobby Knight he is not, he doesn't get that much leeway.
