One thing's for sure... that's going to be one hell of a ride today when PDT based people will wake up
this is a direct warning to the game industy :
detectiveGAF is always watching
your every move is known to us
No matter how deep you hide something
we will find it .
We are Neogaf for we are many.
Yup. As soon as I get a job I care about, I'm deleting my twitter account.I feel bad for him. Saying stupid stuff on Twitter probably has gotten him into way too much undeserved trouble.
Nah, it's only 40 pages by true-GAF standards.Wow. Looks like I got some readin' to do.
Gee no surprise this thread is still going strong.
I was thinking though about something I'm sure most people in the Western world especially N. America take for granted, refrigeration.
How many people worry about it always being on? How many wonder when they shop for groceries for the week or two weeks or the month, think about if their refrigerator will stop working because the power went off for hours at a time. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with always on for a console, but the internet is quickly becoming less of a luxury and more of a utility.
he really set himself up for this meme.
These days there are ways to find dirt on you from way in the past, stuff that you may not be able to delete or know that it exists. It's not just Twitter, though it's a lot easier there.

The next Jimquisition is gonna be EPIC. Even before this twitter madness Jim Sterling confirmed that he will create video talking about that "always online" Durango rumor.

He and majority of America still haven't woken up... Oh man when he founds out todays develoment.
I really hope Cliffy B stays hush about this disaster.
Be easy Cliff.
I know, Twitter.
Yup. As soon as I get a job I care about, I'm deleting my twitter account.
Twitter: The Career Ruiner.
So gamers are genuinely concerned about this direction. Many here in the thread who have absolutely loved their 360 are saying they'll reluctantly turn their back on MS next gen. But in Giespeak it's a "group of people" wanting to "push a narrative." Polygon, if you don't want your site generally considered a joke or to regain at least a shred of credibility, you can begin by taking Twitter away from this guy.
I'd say having dozens of articles posted about some tweets you did, thousands of comments including mocking as well as a meme is - in total - undeserved. I feel we're blowing this way out of proportion.
I bet he wishes Twitter had an offline mode now.
Or use it sensibly? Whenever I use the business Twitter account I think about Tweets for a while before posting them.

Twitter seems to be the catalyst that causes Detective GAF (or whoever) to dig. Hey, I already made that joke, bub!
For one, I do.... but who plays games not connected to the internet?
Yea if that happens count me out.
SimCity?, Diablo 3 do these examples mean nothing to you
Yeah, a company representative mocking people for where they live and being a snarky ass to consumers who don't like the idea of dealing with their (potentially) shitty business practices is something people should just let happen.I'd say having dozens of articles posted about some tweets you did, thousands of comments including mocking as well as a meme is - in total - undeserved. Gee, wonder how developer teams working on exclusive games for the new xbox feels right now. :\

Curiously enough, as far as I remember last time I used my cellphone, car o vaccuum cleaner, I didnt' need any big corporation authorizing me to use their products once I already paid for them because surprise surprise, when I spend my hard earned money into any of these items I own them, not BMW, Samsung or Philips.
I am the owner now and got to do whatever I damn please with them. Which is something that apparently irks Microsof, EA, and their ilk, which now are bossing the consumer around, gladly letting us merely borrow "their" products instead of buying them. These corporations trying now to pretend that they are offering a service instead of a product are fooling noone: make me able to pay on a month per month basis so I can cancel their "service" whenever I feel that it is being a piece of shit, rather than me paying 100% for it in advance. I am sure that these arrogant big developers and their 6 hours campaings triple AA games with less content, depth and meat than a Gameboy cartdrige will be thrilled if such a scheme would be implemented and people would be able to cancel their suscription to their "service" four days after they "buy" their games and finish them, yes.
"Always online" is an unethical, anti consumer practic, period. I paid for the game, I own the game, and thus I will play with it whenver I want to, not whenever their creators feels like. Fuck that shit and everyone that supports it.

A refrigerator only needs electricity. Durango would need electricity AND internet. It's comparing apples to oranges. Or in Orth's case, Durangos to vacuums.
He is being a lot more passive agressive about it all, but damn, this guy seems to never fail to live up to expectations.

Is that Francis rant for real? I have seen another video of him losing it while being called fat online, but he can't be serious can he?

Well yeah, I'm not the kind of guy who would make fun of people who live in small towns. Same with that Penny Arcade thing with Ocean Marketing. I've never been a douchebag to anyone in my life, but still, the idea of spending your life building a career and it all comes crashing down in a day from a tweet or an email is a scary thought. I agree the answer is "don't be a dick". But it could also be "never say anything sarcastic or could be taken out of context."Or use it sensibly? Whenever I use the business Twitter account I think about Tweets for a while before posting them.
