I was relatively satisfied with Windows 10, then I was forced to upgrade to Windows 11, and since then I've had nothing but problems. Well, I thought I'd just skip the stupid updates. I had set it to a 4-week update break, only to find out later that Windows had simply ignored it and carried out the updates anyway.
In this specific situation, this is not a problem. In fact it's a blessing.
ASUS Armory Crate is, at best, bloatware. At worst an entry point for malware.
Anyone with an Asus motherboard, will do better, by going into the UEFI and disabling this bloatware.

Smart App Control is breaking the most ridiculous shit. My ODE for cars suddenly doesn't work but thank god for github - someone wrote up a guide for wine and I can use it no problem. The fact Microsoft is making linux this appealing isn't something I saw happening 20 years ago.
I'm starting to understand why Xbox fans hope the PlayStation handheld rumors are fake. They know the truth: the ROG Ally is a half baked Windows PC. A real PlayStation handheld designed by Mark Cerny would humiliate it.
The Command center still has some power options. Windows, Silent 13W, Performance 17W, Turbo 25W.
I just took my Ally X out of the case and fired it up. It's acting wonky. The updates are not updating, it's stuck at 7%.
edit-I disabled the FSE and rebooted into regular ole Windows 11. Things be updating now.
Come on MS, you NEED this FSE to be working, You can't have all your gamers moving over to Linux.
Microsoft doing solid work for Steam OS handhelds. Ffs they supposed to mimic console experience, not have you praying whether the next update will break something or even kill the whole boot process of the system.
