Is there anything wrong with calling a console a piece of shit. You will get flamed but its your opinion man. Go ahead.
Such a definitive statement might be better served for when, ya know, there's been some actual experience to back up said calling. But I dunno....that's just me. Feel free to back him up on that tho lmao.

Being a fan of something and being a fanboy are two different things. This site and a lot of gaming websites are mostly dominated by Sony fans at that is ok. I am buying both the PS4 and XB1 when they come out and owned both PS3 and 360 this generation and I have to admit this board, especially before big events like E3 the Sony fanboyism does come out. Regardless if Amirox is a fanboy or not his somewhat condescending tone is not needed nor wanted in this thread.

Anyway, back on topic. I am pretty excited to see MSG finally step up on production with some new IPs. Black Tusk Studios intrigues me the most right now but I seem to remember Phil Spencer or someone of the like saying they may not show their game at E3

You made a thread called:

The Xbox One Reveal: A Tragic Play in Three Parts

I mean, come on. I understand being concerned or angry that a console might be bad, but come the fuck on. If that isn't hyperbole, then I don't know what is.

Now calling a console a piece of shit (a console you've never touched, nor no almost anything about yet) isn't trolling? Then what the fuck is trolling?

Pretty much, I have no problem if people dislike the X1, but shitting up threads and boards with nothing but jokes and hate and not discussion on why you dislike it is what I do have a problem with. Also projecting your opinions onto everyone else, "the whole world hates the X1!".

Even the "bad" things (24hrs check, DRM, etc) aren't fully known yet.

because the horrendous anti-consumer measures being taken are catastrophic and most people know that. If you can't see that, I can't help you.

I've been about as outspoken as anyone about their anti consumer BS, but I don't feel the need to bring it up in every single thread nor should anyone else. There are a dozen or more threads about their anti consumer garbage, if people feel so strongly, they should post in those and not use it as as some cheap shot to derail a thread or make a 'funny' post that's then quoted continuously.

Every forum has bias, but on neoGAF it's spread across remarkably evenly - just look at the polls about Sony after they announced PS3 was $599.99. All of neoGAF was fucking taking a shit on Sony. Just look at the disaster of Wii U and Vita, all of neoGAF taking a dump on its situation. Never a day goes by without that shit.

And now the Xbox One is the next in line. And why is that, Miles? Is that because of aliens? Is it because of Atlantis or mecha Hitler? Is it because of the crystals aligning or the planets being in the wrong place?

No, it's because Microsoft revealed a giant fucking goose egg and the vast majority of people know it. 90% - NINETY FUCKING PERCENT - of neoGAF said the Xbox One Reveal was a 5/10 or less. It's time to deal with the reality of the situation and stop trying to pretend everyone is being so mean to Microsoft and their Xbox.

While I wasn't here for the whole $599.99 reveal, I did start lurking not soon afterwards and the whole the entire forum was up in arms is BS.

For every thread about the price two or more would spring up about how MS were releasing Xbox 1.5 or some other nonsense. So yeah, as I said, the Sony bias, or perhaps leaning is more accurate, is very noticeable on this forum.

And this is coming from someone who spent years posting on GFAQ where they were at least upfront about the bias/leanings and didn't pretend there was any balance to discussions.

I agree, there are lots of Sony fans here and that's great, nout wrong with them having a stronger presence here. It's the Sony fanboys ruining things with their childish trolling jokes which prevent discussion happening in any other X1 thread other than this one.

IMO, It looks like a "trollish" phrase.

Oh yes, people won't take you as seriously but some can understand that certain posters have strong emotions. You only have to look at hype threads to see that sometimes emotions get the better of people when they post. "POS" suggest the poster is angry about the console for instance.

It's offensive.

To who?

He's saying its a pos because of the DRM. The policies are enough of a reason, in fact its probably the biggest reason, why people do not like the xbox one.

Like most people who don't really have a point, you seem to be more upset about the fact that this language is being used than any of the details actually being raised.

Your thread you quoted is a PERFECT example. The title of that thread was chosen - with the specific linguistic qualifier of the word "Reveal" - to demonstrate how much of a clusterfuck Microsoft's PR communication was at the conference and afterwards. In it, I show in agonizing detail exactly how many stories Microsoft PR spun in the day of the Reveal and how contradictory it all was.

But you, because of ACTUAL inherent bias, interpreted that as some fanboy assault against the precious Microsoft. This is always a good indicator of who is actually being impacted by bias.

I don't get the people who dispute the 1bn quote. It's like do they think MS won't launch any titles for the XO? Pure shortsighted bullshit again.

Fuck this quagmire of shit we're getting stuck in.

Anyway, I was playing Zelda: SS today (still fairly early on) and I was actually starting to really enjoy the combat. The problem I have so far is the accuracy with the Wiimote(plus). Doing things like the dowsing rod is a lot easier, so is UI navigation, but using the Wiimote to balance on a rope isn't that great. I'm actually interested to see if they have actual combat with Kinect stuff in Ryse, or if it is relegated to actions within the game. I think the raising the controller as a shield is an interesting idea in theory, but I would need to see how it's executed.

THe problem is that the Xbox One's policies have long-reaching and dire implications for the industry as a whole. If we could contain the Xbox One's terrible policies to the platform and knew for a fact it wouldn't infect anywhere else, that'd be a thing. But we know that's not the case. This is Microsoft and publisher's trojan horse, and they aren't even being particularly good at hiding it.

that is assuming that Sony or someone else would/could/is/was following suit from MS when in fact we do not know if the INDUSTRY was already going that way and MS just said it first.

Assuming that Ms saying it first is causing Sony or other console maker to "OMG now they will do it", is short-sighted and immature at it's base thought process.

GAF has had a Sony bias for a while before the PS4 or X1 were revealed, 4chan even called it out and the Sony people quickly tried to dismiss it. It's okay to have a forum that has a Sony bias, as long as they at least own up to it.

Yeah guys really. Take it how you want it but one of the reasons (one not like the main reason, but still) that I went with the 360 instead of the ps3 is simply because I was really turned off by Sony fans. I don't console game enough anyway (PC brah), so all those exclusives don't matter to me as only just have enough time to do some Halo, Forza, Viva Pinata, and third party console exclusives like SSX (it was good for a play through I think).

Coming from the outside I immediately saw the bias against MS. Do I care? Not really. I do get annoyed however when people keep whining about kinect or when 15 games are all supposedly going to be kinect only throw-aways. I'm sorry but with 15 whole games it's kinda hard to think that every single one will not be worth playing -- even with 8 new IPs, that is ridiculous.

That's not to say I don't have my doubts as well. If MS goes along with this always online thing (every 24 hrs. in a lot of people's cases, might as well be every 24 seconds) then I physically cannot support them whether I want to or not. If MS goes along with the stupid used games thing, then my money will be very very slow to come out of my wallet...if at all.

Regardless, how about this, all ye who are at very least "disappointed" with the Xbox One or MS's conduct of late in general: try to skim the thread real quick to see if what you have to say has already said. If it has, don't post it. If the thread is really long, and your post is something along the lines of "Kinect BS" or "I hate MS" or some form of either, then, well think about it, it likely has already been posted. And if it hasn't? Well, hate to brake it to you but....nobody cares. Leave it unposted. The same goes for posting in Wii U or Vita threads. I don't care for either so much, but I don't go in there and start shouting "lol poor Wii U" or whatever. MS threads do not need it either. If you have a problem, at least spend a little time to articulate it. One liners, though you may get a few "lol"s or "so cold"s that, admittedly make the best of us feel rather good, are pointless and waste both your time and that of the rest of us and does not help discussion at all, which, btw, is generally what forums are meant for, not the least of which Neogaf happens to be.

^Besides, mods have suggested similar

As to your last comment: It's never balanced arguing with me because it's clear you don't have the fucking chops to stand up to the heat. Don't try to blame it on being a mod, since I ain't never banned anyone for arguing with me. Not once.

The chops? Jesus Christ, get over yourself. And I can't help but laugh at your poor attempt at deflecting the point.

Anyway, I won't be derailing the thread any further.

Some people should restrict their emotions as they are in a community with rules.

Right. Everyone is biased but you, and everyone who disagrees with you has no point.

I don't like those things, as I tend to move around my controller fairly often when I play. Also on PC, which makes for great bruised knuckles ;) I would love if the gameplay is responsive and all controller, but rallying troops, giving orders etc. is offloaded to kinect.

there are plenty of people that are in an uproar who's only intent is to try and dance on Xbox One's grave... the amount of vitriol coming from some is unwarranted for a product that nobody is being forced to purchase and for which they have other options.

The mature thing for most people to do is to choose the other product and walk away form conversations that regard a product that they are no longer interested for whatever reason

and a LOT of people don't care about the online or the DRM solutions being proposed

But the problem is these issues effect everyone. Its not as simple as let bygones be bygones. Ive personally said many times that i dont give a fuck about these companies and if anyone thinks sony wouldnt do it if they thought they could get away with it are fucking stupid.

the fact is microsoft has gone on record and said they are doing what they are doing. They deserved to be dumped on in every thread in every forum over the entirety of the internet until they take out the anticonsumer drm and forced kinect off the table. Will they? no of course not. Too many people dont give a shit. But Gaf never has will or ever will be the mainstream opinon. The Xbox one is a shit in the eye of the enthusiast gamer and the fact that many on this forum will end up owning one doesnt change that.

No different how a audiophile views beats by dre, A car nut views a nissan leaf, or Book buff views the twlight novels.

Yeah, could be. I still have no idea what the gameplay is going to be. You make it sound more like an RTS, but I expected some sort of FPS combat game like Riddick. Maybe it's a combination of the two?

Right. Everyone is biased but you, and everyone who disagrees with you has no point.

Show me how what I said about that topic is wrong. You can't. Like I said, I have absolutely -nothing- to prove about my bias. Every longterm neoGAFer knows me, and every longterm neoGAFer knows I have variously been called a Sony fanboy, a Nintendo fanboy and a Microsoft fanboy at one part or another when I was going to town against one of these companies.

I only play games and I only want what is ultimately best for that environment to thrive. Anything else is for kids to dwaddle about as they flip through the covers of Game Informer and send envelope art of Nathan Drake and Master Chief.

Amir0x is as mad as hell. And I for one don't blame him. I think it was an extremely cuntish thing for MS to do relative to this DRM bullshit. The big problem here is now that MS has done it and the publishers think they are going to be laughing all the way to the bank. I can see them putting a lot of pressure on Sony to follow suit. If so. Then the whole thing is fucked.

And what for. Corporate greed.

I'm a huge Xbox fan. Have been since the original Xbox but if MS genuinely goes down this path then they can fuck off. And if they force Sony to follow suit then I'm out of the next gen race.

So yeah. There is anger. And there is bitterness. And it's all deserved.

Soooooo getting back on topic.

What game do you guys most want to see there?

For me it's Rares project. It will be great to see them making core games again.

Yup, not many are arguing that fella.

Doesn't matter.

In future, don't come into an Xbox thread and declare the console to be "a piece of shit". It stifles discussion, is against the TOS of this forum and is childish in the extreme.

Let's move on.

Soooooo getting back on topic.

What game do you guys most want to see there?

For me it's Rares project. It will be great to see them making core games again.

Crackdown 3 or Rare's game, depending on what IP it is.

But really guys.

Crackdown 3.

I'm curious about Black Tusk Studio's game, Quantum Break and Rare's game as well. Of course the new IPs are intriguing but I have nothing to go off of yet to be interested other than the fact that they exist haha.

Still hoping for a Crackdown 3 but it isn't looking likely.

Lost Odyssey 2, but I think it'll probably be at TGS...

Ok I'm going to go with Conker
appearing in Killer Instinct 3 :(

in a few weeks if Sony announces these policies, I can't wait to go into the Sony topics and hear how big of a Microsoft fanboy I am. "Oh, see, you said 360 was your favorite console last gen, that proves it!"

Fanboys are fucking HILARIOUS.

Sorry for derailing the thread even this long for those of you who are just innocent bystanders who are genuinely interested in Xbox One, but the blatant hypocrisy of Miles post was just too much to not comment on. NeoGAF is not a Sony den. It's a industry forum where people react reflexively to negative news, and everyone takes their turn in the mire.

We've had that thread 20+ times already tho, no? (HERE PERHAPS? :)) That's the point. Surely there's another thread where any and everyone is free to reiterate their dislike for this particular issue or any other. Continuing to rail against it in thread after thread is not only annoying to those that really dont give a fuck about it, but also to those that would at least like to have a bit of positive discussion as it pertains to their upcoming E3 keynote and/or showing.

For me I still trying to figure out how will they fit in a hour and half FIFTEEN new games, and even some multiplats with a DLC or stuff.

I want a platformer (from Rare). I NEED a platformer.

Crackdown 1 was the best 3D platformer the 360 ever had. =)

I'm curious about Black Tusk Studio's game, Quantum Break and Rare's game as well. Of course the new IPs are intriguing but I have nothing to go off of yet to be interested other than the fact that they exist haha.

MS wouldn't put that agility orb square at the reveal just to mess with us, would they?

Would they? =(

I just want to know what the hell it is. We hear KI3 one day, then Wizards and Warriors the next. Weren't there rumors about a wave-racing game? Would be cool if that was the Kinect-based game and KI3 was their historic franchise. I also can't wait to see what Mirror's Edge 2 looks like.

From what we know though, I can't wait to see Ryse and Quantum Break. I know Forza is going to be a looker and will be cool, but those two games are complete unknowns but sound interesting.

I also hope they have some new announcements of multiplats. I really want to see what Telltale's new Walking Dead game looks like, be it Season 2 or otherwise. Maybe Fallout 4 as well? That would be a very nice surprise.

Guess what?

This isn't the thread for this...

Yeah. You're probably right.

It's just hard to get excited about the games when you know you're only going to be able to afford one or two a year because of MS's DRM policies.

You'll be hard pressed to find anyone not angry about their anti consumer garbage, but this doesn't distract from the point that while there's anger, there's no need to bring it up in every single thread.

The meaning of this entire conversation has been obfuscated. It was simply about you trying to call out AgentP as a fanboy while claiming the forum was filled with Sony fanboys, every other part was basically finger pointing over trying to prove people were the bigger fanboys.

I'm sure you'll try to claim that your comment was DEFINITELY the point of this topic too and try to lay that blame on me too.

Wizards and Warriors was based on the guy looking like a Knight, but Rare basically said he isn't. I think it'll be KI3.

As for the wave racing game, could this be the Blood Wake hint that Miles has been waiting for?

I wish the DRM/Online crap wasn't happening buuut ...

I try in every situation to take positives from the negatives.

Mine??

Every game installed to HDD, I still get to buy physical and get my boxes, but all the luxury of digital, yes!

With every game being installed it's gonna allow devs to do a bit more.

Now when my nephew asks to borrow games I have a legitimate excuse rather than "ooh ... er .. wow look at that!" *runs away*

We have had leaks tho.

We know of a number of third party exclusives as well as what some studios are rumoured to be up to.

I meant from the famous 15 really.
