CALL OUT THE VOTE

The top three most popular designs based on this open-to-the-public vote between now and the end of our Kickstarter campaign will be announced as part of our livestream around 5:30pm PST on Tuesday, Oct. 1 -- right at the end of our Kickstarter! Those three designs will be colored and refined for another round of backer-only voting on our (by then) new Mighty No. 9 official forums, due to go up sometime in late October or early November!

A couple of character notes we have set for Call, just to keep in mind as you weigh her various design options:

Call is a female robot originally created by Dr. White’s friend, Dr. Sanda, to help assist him with his research; she somehow avoided being infected by the virus causing all the other robots to go berserk and has pledged to help Beck.

Call was not imbued with the human characteristics that make Beck unique, so she’s more of a pure robot -- as you might imagine, this contrast can lead to some interesting differences and misunderstandings whenever they interact!

Note: Our survey system limits everyone to one vote per person, and we will be checking IP logs to root out any attempts at multiple votes (so don’t even try and vote twice or you’ll risk your vote not counting at all!). Also, we aren’t going to say whose design is whose (some of you can guess by now, we’re sure!), but we have designs here from Yuuji Natsume (Inti Creates), Hirokatsu Maeda (Inti Creates), Yoshitaka Hatakeyama (Inti Creates), Yuuta Watanabe (Inti Creates), Makoto Yabe / KOU (Freelance), Kimo Kimo (Comcept), Shinsuke Komaki (Comcept), Hideki Ishikawa (Freelance), and Keiji Inafune (Comcept)!

I love the design of F, and the fact that so much fanart has already been created with her, but I looks to fit the serious nature of her much more.

To everyone voting for E, I'm curious as to whether you read her backstory or not. She's not like Beck and was created without emotions. Therefore, her range of reactions doesn't well-suit her since she's not supposed to react as normal. That's why I is so fitting since she has a basic facial expression and the design of her [legs especially] matches Beck.

I voted for F, since I was so used to her design, but now I'm kind of regretting not going with I.

This is a tough one! Definitely leaning toward A, E, or F.

A would be a cute match for Beck, but the hair plugs are a bit overkill. Love the art style.
B is a bit too anime for my tastes.
C is way too creepy. Would fit better in a Mighty No. X.
D looks like Wily's daughter.
E is a great design, and the little emotions give her a ton of character.
F is probably the safest bet. Most of the awesome fan art has been her design, and it really complements the style (and that Rush-esque dog!).
G is...well. It's something.
H is a bit too plain. Would fit better in a Mighty No.9 Powered Up.
I seems a bit too anime as well. Would fit better in a Mighty No. 9 EXE.

Let's be honest, after snakepixel's awesome fan art F is the most likely choice.

D is just a piss poor example of what a professional level of concept art should be that you are showing off to public... internal fine - but not public. they sent some of these designs to die just based off how they are displayed.
