Miitomo |OT| A new way of COMMUnication

My Mii's response to the website question. Yep, he knows my(our) habits far too well:

And now I feel bad for getting the kitty on my second try. So far:

Long Cat Hoodie: Got it in 2.
Cat Companion: Got it in 2.
Lazy Cat Jumper: Got it in 1.
Cat Pawprint Button-Up Shirt: 4 unsuccessful attempts. Halp pls.

The shoulder kitty is on that top platform that you just drop straight on, right? The key is to try and get a Mii to drop that has the tiniest possible body with the largest possible head, and it should just plop onto it.

You win it in one of the cat mii drop games

how?!?! that one is impossible!

I started by moving the Mii 2 taps to the left and waited until the body was as horizontal as possible with the head on the right side. Every other try it would bounce off the right side and always land on the stupid sweaters.

On that note, I wish you could gift items to friends.

Seriously. I have like 5 crazy kitty sweaters to give away lol

It must be fate. You're turning into a crazy cat lady/gentleman.

My Mii really does reflect my real self, haha

*sigh*

Breaking news:

Goli (the OP) just told me in PM that the OT title is a reference to Persona. I haven't played that so I guess that's why I didn't get it :P. I am curious about the context though, any Persona fans that can explain it?

Sorry if this was already answered, but COMMU is the name for social links in the Japanese versions of Persona.

I think it's weird that you can't just share a Miifoto with a friend, but you have to share on social media. I get that they want to create that feedback loop and get more people to join, but I uh don't really want to be sharing these things on my Twitter account.

Then again, sometimes it'll say "so-and-so has shared an image with you"...what are the rules for which Miifotos it chooses to share with others? Just the ones that Miitomo automatically takes?

Yeah, it's really weird. I don't know why Nintendo won't let us just share our pictures without social media? Maybe they're still burned by the whole Swapnote scandal...

I think you can only share the one that Miitomo takes. Hopefully things change.

Me and my wife just spent an hour playing around in the app. I don't get what is supposed to be fun or interesting about this. We play Wii U together all the time but this is just not for us. I guess I was expecting some sort of Nintendoland or Mario Party lite experience. I hope this isn't the future of N.

It's not a game, it's a social media app. Think Snapchat but different. There's probably a better comparison but that's the one I keep using, probably because of Miifoto

I mean I knew the social aspect was a big part of it but the app store description does say mini games. All I see is the drop game which is terrible. I guess I just assumed they would have a few fun multiplayer games as part of the whole experience. Am I missing it?

Thanks kubus for the spreadsheet and I added myself to the list. Need to start adding people to follow, but the spreadsheet is much easier than combing all of the pages for Twitter handles.

It makes the Mario coin sound effect whenever a Mii reads out "Nintendo". Coincidental with Nintendo having trademarked the sound effect just a while ago.

Nah, that's it, and Miitomo Drop is just used to get unique clothing items. The app is just a silly and fun time waster. I thought it was stupid until I started adding a but of Gaffers and messing around with Miifoto and commenting on other people's Answers. I understand how it would be disappointing if you went into it expecting more of a game component.

So I ran into this today and thought it was weird as well, but then later my Mii spoke up and said we should show it off and prompted me to add a comment. So I guess you just have to talk to your mii after you take the photo.

I added myself to the spreadsheet but I clicked on the link for my twitter and didn't work for me.

@_Gamer_Mike_ just incase it doesn't work for anyone else.

I'll add people later when I get my 3 year old to fall asleep.

Some ideas for future updates:

first and foremost before anything else make it speedier/snappier when opening and closing stuff. Its like a couple second wait even with good wifi sometimes

even more facial expressions and maybe let you manipulate the mii's actual body so you can contort it how you want

let you like a comment by a different person on someone's post (some clever responses from some of you)

better notification system when someone responds to your post, rather than a small red dot, show like a small number notification

when you make a comment or post, let you choose your mii's expression

I just installed it on my second phone with a second account. Makes it much easier to get the daily My Nintendo coins without really being bothered to use the app.

5 Gaffer's added me so I went into Miitomo and updated my Twitter link friends and it shows as I still haven't added anyone. Is there a grace period for when the apps sees you added people?

It *should* work right away. Are you sure it's connected? You can check from your Twitter's Applications settings.

But maybe it's a bit sloe right now.

Ok... I had a brain fart. I forgot to follow them. So I did but only two of them popped in the Miitomo app and I sent friend request to those two.

I have been answering questions on my free time all day. I think I ran out of questions...
All my Mii ever says now is, "I was going to ask you something, but i forgot... Talk to me again later, would ya?"

Oh yeah, something else I want them to change: let me choose the shape of the image in miifoto. I don't want to make it a square when most images on the internet are rectangles so I have to have stuff cut out.

I've got a lot of GAF friends on Twitter but I can't add them because the only suggestions that are appearing are people with whom I share multiple mutual friends. Is there a way to pick which friends to add?
