Mike Pence's Flight to Colts game, to walk out, cost $242,500

Vice Presidential salary is $192,600, btw.

So it's his yearly salary + $50,000.

He can pay for this little jaunt out of his own pocket, to start. If not, well, maybe we can just garnish his wages. I hear that's a thing we do here in America for people who don't pay their debts.

That only applies to the poor, unfortunately. The rich get away with murder. Literal murder.

You imagine the Republicans won't have a leg to stand on for decades but then you realise people are idiots and see them as a sports team. The go to response from future politicians "wasn't me and I wouldn't do that" /wink

Not that I was ever a "proud American" but this administration has succeeded in me feeling embarrassed that I am an american citizen...

Even if this hadn't been a stunt and he had stayed for the entire game, why are American tax dollars being spent on plane rides for the VP to attend a sporting event? Not even like the Olympics or the Superbowl; a mid-season NFL game between a middling team and an awful team. Why is that an appropriate use of taxpayer money? I get paying for the VP and POTUS to go to official things, but paying so they can travel in luxury for personal indulgences? That's absurd.

Tbh, I don't even see why we have secret service for the VP. Is it really any more of a big deal if the VP gets abducted than the secretary of state or defense?

LOL, you know the VP is next in line to the Presidency, right?

Just when you thought those four years was long, Trump says hold my beer.

As a Hoosier, I say this with foresight and knowledge: Mike Pence is appropriately the VP to the worst president of all time because he’s absolutely terrible. I was happy he went to be VP because we can get someone who gives a shit in our statehouse instead of a purely political monster, but then this happened.

As a fellow Hoosier, keep preaching brother. This whole stunt is absolutely ridiculous.

Though that last part of the statement notes that he had planned to attend the ceremony for Peyton weeks in advance? I'm not defending his "protest" by any stretch, but it makes it seem like he had planned to be in Indy all along at least. But then he just decided to tack on his "protest" because his master told him to and to appease his base. Pretty gross stuff.
