Edit - Millions March is the name of the protest, not an indication of the number of people that were at these protests.

Some from DC:

This is incredible. I'm really proud of people going out there and using their voice instead of being silent about this.

This shit needs to change.

This is much more nice to hear after so much dumb shit in the news these past weeks regarding police and other canned diet racist statements.

Its only a matter of time.

I'm glad that people are protesting, but I'm very skeptical that it will foment any serious change.

It will be gridlocked by those in office, like any sincere desire the people have wanted in the last few years. Fuck, we literally just passed a budget that allows more corporate influence at the expense to citizen influence.

I feel this may possible be another Occupy movement or the issue of school shootings being nearly a weekly thing: it addresses and acknowledge the serious insoluble ills of our society, but those ills simply stay as insoluble. Those at the top - the ones with ascribed control and authority in our social game - really don't care.

Was at the DC protests today - and I was elated by the organization of the march and how purposefully charged the crowd was. I stood hand in hand with people of all colors, and ethnicities. The young and old were represented. We were thousands strong, too. I can only hope that Congress listens; there were several incredibly powerful speakers, as well as a list of reform demands. Concrete ones. I was impressed, especially by the student government president from Howard University.

As a former prosecutor, I couldn't NOT attend the march; we must hold our officers (and district attorneys!) accountable.

Agreed. Thanks for articulating this much better than I could.

Incredible. Good on everyone out there showing their support and showing that this isn't an issue that's going to just blow over so quickly.

fox news said only a few hundred tho so this is like, not an accurate representation of the feelings of these people

like, I don't think a few protesters is a good enough sample to draw conclusions about the membership of the broader movement

This is inspiring to see. I only wish I was able to march with them.

Canada has a problem with police violence or is this moral support?

Moral support mostly. Plus most people have family in the states, so they're not completely seperated from the issue. I for instance have a lot of family all over the states, from Tulsa to Columbus to Buffalo.
