MindsEye - How Bad Does It Get? - PS5/Pro/Xbox Series X|S DF Tech Review

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

The state of MindsEye at launch is surprisingly poor, with bugs, crashes and major frame-rate issues on every console going. Is there any redeeming quality to it right now after its first patch, and how much work is needed to put the game right?

- Uses UE5 with Lumen and Nanite
- All machines are heavily CPU bound
- All consoles run with unevenly frame-paced 30fps cap
- Stutters on PC well in excess of 200ms

- All consoles use DRS.
- PS5/SX typically between 972p to 1008p.
- PS5 Pro typically 1296p average
- All other visual settings are a match

- Series S typically 720p~ with lower quality in textures, assets, effects etc
- Image quality is soft on all consoles w/ Series S being extra soft

- Even when game is running at 30fps, it rarely feels smooth cause of bad frame-pacing
- Latest patched version still sees PS5 Pro dropping to ~20fps
- Base PS5 more or less the same plus also has screen tearing
- Frame rate drops to teens in the same stress areas where Pro dropped to ~20
- Both Xbox version versions suffer the same frame pacing, tearing issues
- SX's average frame rate is higher than PS5 in like to like comparisons
- Series S suffers the worst drops in the teens and can crash when heavily stressed

Aren't games supposed to have some QA certification from Sony, Microsoft etc? Clearly they know the state of the game before they allow it on their platforms. Do they just not give a shitcunt anymore?

It's just a completely unfinished game released as it is because investors said enough.
It's kinda pointless beating the dead horse, reminds me of the Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness debacle in 2003.

You think that they test games on bugs and performance? Certification means that it passed their security tests, that's all.

Man you guys have no idea what you're missing

Party shitters, the lot of you
The game looks like it could have been pretty good, with time. I like the setting and art.

Shame its simply just not finished. They obviously ran out of cash and had to release something.
