Mini-Pokemon news: LONG NECK VS T-REX (Amaura and Tyrunt evo)

It'd be cool to see a Fire-type version of Freeze-Dry, with a high chance of inflicting Burn, and super-effectiveness against Water-types. Would be a good defense for Fire-types to use against Water-types.

So how many pokemon are in the game now? Hope the OP has a lot of info cause I'm so in the dark with the series.
Prior to X and Y, the total is 649. A number of them have alternate forms, too. After X and Y, there will probably be 750-850 Pokemon.

I posted about these before, but today TOMY's facebook page uploaded product images for the new XY figures. Nothing new revealed obviously, but it confirms that we're definitely getting the ones that Japan is getting. So, you can chalk that up to another global release.

Someone asked and they also made mention that certain characters would be getting plushes. Right now its hard to say if the Kanto starters will get the plush (and the final evos getting figures) over here or not, but I'd certainly believe so.

OK Amaura hasn't been getting any love...
I feel bad but its for good reason..

Its evo though?.... I think we're severely underrating it guys... Stuck in Tyrantrum hype..

Aurorus has an extremely majestic look to it that I haven't seen since Dragonair and Lapras. Not even Miltoc gave me the same level of feels... Her ability is pretty awesome too. I'm sure it will be very useful.

Strength + Refrigerate = 80+ Base power ice move.

When I saw that ability, Return was the first thing I thought of, lol

I was like:

Hopefully it will have decent atk

So freeze-dry being super effective against water types wasn't weird wording. Wonder how strong it is.

I guess it means that attack does what ice-types do to any other type except for water.

I wonder if this kind of is like dual-typed attack thing the rumor was talking about. Of course it would be twisting it in a sense, but it kinda does make sense that it is somehow super effective against a type it isn't.

Man, I didn't even mention the T-Rex Pokemon (can't even remember the name until now).
Just don't care about that one at all, Auroros all the way.

are we getting those kanto starter plush dolls in america?

I would assume so, but until we hear otherwise (which we probably won't), its kind of up in the air. These things should all be on sale for launch day for the games though from what I understand.

After X and Y, there will probably be 750-850 Pokemon.

Keep dreaming. Judging by the amount of Pokémon revealed, we are not getting 150 new Pokémon again and even if we got, we would had 800 at most.

think we will have 750~770 after XY, not counting Mega Evolutions obviously.

I'd prefer a special attacker
They need to make a better special rock type move though
Ancientpower ain't gonna cut it :/

I just looked it up, Ancient Power and Power Gem are the only 2 special rock attacks, hilarious. You've had 2 generations to fix this Game Freak lol.

And the ice fossil really looks like it's going to be a bulky special attacker, so I don't think Return and Body Slam are going to matter. I'd like to be wrong though.

What are the Rock Type special attackers? Only SolRock/Lunatone/Omastar come to mind.

Dinos as special attackers don't make much sense to me.

Fossils have always been tanks or physical attackers, right?

Solrock has a 55 base Sp Atk stat, so it's just Omastar and Lunatone, maybe Archeops but it has a higher Attack stat than Sp Atk (140 vs 112). And Lunatone doesn't even have a really high Sp Atk stat, with only 95. We obviously desperately need a good Rock Special attacker, but good Rock moves are needed first.

There's Power Gem...

But yeah they need stuff like Mineral Blast, Petrify, and any other cool-sounding stone-related moves!

Its ability is much better suited for a physical attacker though. Physical Normal type moves have a lot more variety than the few special ones.

I was totally putting the T-rex on my team at first, but Amaura has really been growing on me, especially after seeing it's absolutely beautiful evolution. Seriously, I think it might be the most majestic looking Pokemon yet. My only concern is that typing, but I'm sure GF will take that into account and hopefully make not make it a complete glass-jaw.

Either way, I'm pretty sure this little guy is going to be one of my mains.
