アワゾンの秘宝 is part of the Japanese title for Virtual Boy Wario Land

On May 11, 2017, Nintendo Co., Ltd. filed in Japan via J-PlatPat/INPIT a trademark application for アワゾンの秘宝 (Awazon no hih&#333, and it has now been made available for public viewing. Goods and services are related to programs for a home video game machine and the likes. Now, the earlier trademark for Awazon no hihō, filed in 1995, expires July 11, 2017, so this new filing is likely a product of that.

The only use I can find for アワゾンの秘宝/Awazon no hihō is in the Japanese title for Virtual Boy Wario Land: バーチャルボーイワリオランド　アワゾンの秘宝, so I must assume this concerns just that title.

A trademark for Virtual Boy was filed by Nintendo in Europe 2014. Nintendo's US Virtual Boy trademark was abandoned in 2003. Trademarks for Wario Land were filed in both EU and US in 2008.

I decided to bring this up as I find it a bit curious to file a new trademark application for such a niche title (for a niche system). I don't see any Japanese trademark filings for Mario Clash (マリオクラッシ&#12517 or Teleroboxer (テレロ ボクサ&#12540. There you have it anyway.

If I remember well when they announced VC for 3DS they promised Virtual Boy (which was logic, due to the 3DS effect). What a wasted opportunity. That and more 3D Classics like Excitebike, it was awesome.
