Fuck you Cena!

you really seem to have a hatred for the royals team and I haven't a clue why you do :p
anyways unless the Twins are moved out of the AL Central they will likely be last next year again.
Because they just hot in October, they're not legit. Casuals and the dumb ass media are gonna hop on the bandwagon.

The Royals were one of the best teams in the league after the ASB.

This post is built upon a foundation of pre-All-Star break/post-All-Star break splits. It’s not a perfect dividing point, but it’s mighty close so nothing significant should be too obscured. The first-half Royals were on an 83-win pace, and a 37-WAR pace. The second-half Royals played to a 98-win pace, and a 47-WAR pace. Those are very different numbers! I also understand how ridiculous it is to refer to first halves and second halves when the halves contained an unequal number of games. That’s language for you. Let’s take a closer look at the splits by going to WAR components. This table contains WAR figures, multiplied out to 162 games to make for easier comparison.

Might still have been a fluke but it's been more than one hot month for them.

We had a hot second half last season as well. The Royals are good. There's no doubt about it now. They just seem to take half of the season to start showing it. Hopefully a couple of moves this offseason can make things happen a bit sooner next year.

Dan Uggla got a ring. This is all your fault Giants. Each time you think of this World Series win, remind yourselves of this horror you've committed against humanity.

It really is the greatest travesty of all.

If it was not for Uggla, they would not have finally brought up Panik. he had a purpose!

I feel that the recent passing of Oscar Taveras may put the Cardinals in a position where they need a right fielder.

It's possible they don't. They have several surplus outfielders, but Taveras was the clear starter and now it's in the uncomfortable position were they're going to throw a bunch of minor leaguers at the position and see if any of them stick.

Want to get really pissed off? Consider this: he probably even gets a cut of their winnings too -- even if not quite a full share.

I feel bad if Renteria gets the boot with essentially zero notice, but I don't see how that's Madden's fault. And, well, it isn't like Renteria took the Cubs very far.

Now people are calling Joe Maddon to the Cubs a classless move. Fuck baseball.

Replace your current manager with a clearly better free agent? Classless move!

Replace a current player on your roster with a clearly better free agent? Great business decision to make the team better!

And the Braves are still paying him like $19 million through next season. I'm sorry Braves-GAF.

Edit: BLarry... I'd burn the whole office down.

Braves are paying Uggla $13 million in 2015 to sit on his ass. B.J. Upton is still making $45 million over the next three seasons.

It's a clear area of focus now. The offense needs an upgrade somewhere and RF is the biggest hole. Going into the season with Bourjos, Grichuk, and Piscotty fighting for a starting role would be a mistake.

Good news is there's a lot of financial flexibility. Bad news is the FA crop of OFers is very weak.

May the Schwartz be with you
Could be worse. Could be like the Mets still paying Bobby Bonilla over a million each year for like 20 more years.

Excerpt from Theo's statement. Great stuff.
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/10/cubs-fire-rick-renteria.html
Rick deserved to come back for another season as Cubs manager, and we said as much when we announced that he would be returning in 2015. We met with Rick two weeks ago for a long end-of-season evaluation and discussed plans for next season. We praised Rick to the media and to our season ticket holders. These actions were made in good faith.

Last Thursday, we learned that Joe Maddon – who may be as well suited as anyone in the industry to manage the challenges that lie ahead of us – had become a free agent. We confirmed the news with Major League Baseball, and it became public knowledge the next day. We saw it as a unique opportunity and faced a clear dilemma: be loyal to Rick or be loyal to the organization. In this business of trying to win a world championship for the first time in 107 years, the organization has priority over any one individual. We decided to pursue Joe.

I don't understand the media's issue with this. Every week someone is yelling "FIRE THIS MANAGER" "THERE'S NO LOYALTY TO THE PLAYERS!" etc, now the Cubs go after the best manager in baseball, instead of keeping a guy who was clearly a stepping stone, while paying him compensation to go sit at home?

I really hate the media. But am thrilled that Maddon is now running the team.
