International baseball has this rule and the WBC will have it also.Marte & Polanco will play for the DR
this is some dumb shit & what i meant when i said MLB hates baseball.
if you think games are too long then just allow ties.
I don't think anyone running MLB actually likes baseball.

He's trying to top Goodell.Manfred needs to be fucking stopped. Why the hell he thinks so much tinkering is needed.
I'm fine with that rule as long as opposing teams get to choose which player starts at 2nd, and it can be a bench coach.
Doyers must always use this guy then:
Nice to see baseball back.Tommy can still go.
I was just reading an ESPN story about Cubs needs and what they should do this year, and they kept mentioning that with Schwarber back they have an extra guy they don't need and could be traded (Zobrist or Baez) for a ace pitcher. But they lost Fowler. Isn't the plan to start Hewyard at CF, Kyle at LF and Zobrist at RF? So they don't actually have an extra great player unless I'm missing something.
Centerfield looks more like Jon Jay/Almora platoon. Zobrist will, i assume, be part of a position rotation to keep everyone rested.
Ah ok that makes sense but even then I still don't agree with that article basically saying the Cubs should trade Baez or Zobrist for a starting pitcher like they are not really needed. Especially considering how an injury can happen anytime and Maddon likes to rotate his lineup quite often.
Also there is the big question mark about Hewyard showing improvement at the plate...

Cubs got another lottery ticket pitcher in Alec Mills. I actually liked Donny Dewees though.
