Call me crazy but I was panicking several weeks ago trying to find a pre-order of the MVP edition. None were available for shipping except gamestop. I placed the pre order and noticed today walmart had the MVP in stock to buy local. Ran up and bought a copy and came back and canceled my gamestop order since it wasn't even processing yet and would not arrive until next week or so anyway.

The hype got me. I bought '15 and '16 so I was going to sit out this year but after seeing a few videos I couldn't help it. Also having that 20% off PSN purchase coupon helped :)

~20 mins before I can start playing!

Yeah, I was under the impression that the Pro would downsample for 1080p, but "error" message indicates it doesn't. Oh well, high frame rate setting it is I guess.

I have this obsession of making my RTTS players dirtbags. This year my guy is named Max Money. The name alone makes me think of all the shitty one liners he might have.

Given how you can respond to teams and managers at the beginning of the road, you can now give that kind of player a voice in how he reacts to call-ups, signings..etc! Perfect!

Anyone else still play offline franchise? If you do, how is it this year? I've heard good things about the critical moments mode, but haven't really seen any videos. Seems like a good way to break up the monotony of playing full seasons while still having some agency over how your team finishes.

Got the Redbox rental.

I had bought the Show since I got a PS4 in 2014 but I burned out on 16 so I'm using caution.

Probably sim a season with my Tigers and see what happens.

Yeah I have noticed. The Rays did not appreciate my reaction to them drafting me. It's also why I really wanted to start over this year. I wanted to see all this stuff from the start.

Holy smokes this game looks and plays great this year.

Played my first Retro game (in Shea Stadium)...

Cespedes and Bruce tie in the 9th with back-to-back homers with 2 outs only to go onto lose it in 10 innings against the Tribe.

...and WTF, the Indians brought Gaylord Perry and Bob Feller in from the bullpen and Roberto Alomar off the bench.

So I started a RTTS game, started by accident before editing my appearance so I skipped through everything so I could restart.

Only I discovered you can edit your appearance once you've started your career.

So long story short, I told the Phillies to go fuck themselves and ended up back in junior college for a year waiting for a second bite at the draft.

I haven't played the show in like five years, what control schemes does everyone use? I'm on analog hitting atm but that doesn't seem to be the same as what I used before.

Go to the store menu (where you'd buy stubs) and there will be stubs + packs with "Redeem" underneath.

Alternatively, you should get a pop up saying you have entitlements available with instructions on how to redeem, but if servers are still fucked then it might not give the message

Super excited for this. Haven't bought/played one since '14, but I've been following all the changes and upgrades they've made every year. Finally I think that I have enough time to do the game justice, and am ready to jump in and go deep in Road to the Show. I never even made it far enough to become a free agent in '14, so I want to at least do that.

Any tips for making it deep into a career? I tend to play every game, but what are some simming strategies people use to shorten the time it takes to get through a season (while maintaining decent stats etc.)?

Thanks for that. Servers are still trash. Can't really complain as a buddy bought me the MVP edition so we can battle it out online.

I mentioned this in the impressions thread, but all of you PSVR owners should be able to enjoy 3D audio in the Show with any wired headphones because it works in Uncharted 4. You don't need to wear the headset - just turn it on and plug in your phones.

Ok this may be a really stupid question but how the hell do I exit this damn tutorial matchup? This is the first time I've loaded the game and I see no option to exit to the main menu nor stop this horrible bland pop rock song on constant repeat.

If I hear one more stupid ass "woo hoo woo hoo" from this stupid ass song I'm going to have a stroke.

I've been playing offline franchise and I find it pretty fun. It lets you do all the things in regards to managing and being a GM but with the added benefit of occasionally taking over critical situations as a player.

Continued my RTTS save, and didnt notice a difference in look as 4K is the default, changed it high frame rate mode and now im in heaven as its all i ever wanted. For me out of all the games I've played on the pro this alone is worth it for me.

Yes it is awesome. The only thing is the jaggies, especially around the bat.

Would you be able to post some screenshots from your Pro set at 1080p? From them I should be able to determine if there's downsampling, for my Pro enhancement thread. If the modes are freely selectable from within the game, a shot or two from each one would be very helpful. I understand if you don't have the time or inclination.

Has everyone been able to redeem their codes? I got an error redeeming my MVP edition code but it is showing in my transaction history on the SEN site. Does this mean it went through? I'm still waiting for the version 1.02 download file to finish.

Servers are having a lot of issues day one. This usually happens and it's hard to redeem everything in game. Give it a day.

I preordered from Best Buy but I did not receive an email or a printout on my receipt. Sounds like folks from Amazon and PSN experiencing the same. Were preorder bonuses sent out as codes or are they supposed to appear in-game (once servers are up)?

I received an email from Amazon and a code in the MVP steelbook itself.

The servers were up on PSN for a short time and I received my digital bonuses for MVP. If Best Buy and Amazon are not sending stuff out that is a separate issue entirely.
