A series of new Modern Warfare 3 leaks have surfaced

-tPi_1wj

According to Twitter user @BobNetworkUK, who has seemingly obtained images of the Modern Warfare 3 alpha, it seems like Sledgehammer Games will be fixing major issues players complained about within Modern Warfare 2.

Specifically, Bob claims that both the classic mini map and Ninja Perk will be returning. According to Bob, perks will return in the form of 'gear', with different sets of gear being different perks. For example, one set of boots might give you the 'Ninja' perk, whilst another set might give you the 'Marathon' perk.

In addition to the Ninja Perk and classic mini-map, Bob also claimed that War mode from Call of Duty: WW2 will be making a return.

As somewhat expected, the game looks remarkably like Modern Warfare 2 in design. After all, the game was intended to be an MW2 DLC for a brief time. It's worth noting that we're still 5 months from release and all of the features mentioned are from the game's internal alpha – So are subject to change.

I hope the perks being governed by gear means there'll be decent customization. Hopefully footwear, lower and upper torso categories and headgear. Give us a generic character we can customize, I hate the stupid "heroes" shit they've been doing.

After the embarrassment that was MWII they'd have to offer up free blowies after every match for me to even consider it and with it being headed by Sledgehammer I'd probably still decline.

When was the last time the classic mini map was available in COD?

That was the last time I truly cared for the series tbh so goos to hear

Extremely tight SBMM will likely still plague casual games, so I'm out. Leave that shit for the sweaty players who want it to be neck and neck every single game.

Fix the SBMM, put a slight cooldown on jumping and stop putting clown skins in the store and they'll be on the right track. Don't have high hopes though.

The closer this is to MW 2022 the better. That has by far the most experienced cod community playerbase in my 15+ years of playing. Almost every player knows what they are doing and almost every match is tense.

After the complete sloppy disaster that is nu-MW2, why do they think I am going to (A) pay $70 to get access to their "fixes", and (B) trust Shithammer is going to actually fix it?

Instead of a mappack you get now a perk pack.😂🤣🤦‍♂️

Pathetic. Most likely they will shit on players who enjoy 6 vs 6.

Game will be only for cosmetic bullshit and warzone. No thanks.

Wasn't MW2 last years game? They're jumping straight to MW3?

The big rumor/expectation surrounding MWII before its release last year was that it would be the first two-year Call of Duty in ... forever. Meaning no new full-blown CoD game in 2023, but rather just continued support and content for 2022's title. Later leaks indicated that this would likely take the form of a massive map pack containing a ton of MW2 (2009) remakes.

But apparently at some point, Activision decided for some reason ($$$) that this plan was no longer acceptable and that they wanted a full "premium" game for 2023 as well. The cheapest and quickest way to make sure it was ready in time for this upcoming fall is to do a straight sequel to last year's game, copying a ton of the existing gameplay code, UI, etc. and probably using the MW2 remakes that were already in development as the core of the new game's map selection.

Call of duty attempted the character thing, add costumes to those characters and it's time for them to make a decision of what you're keeping, how to improve the menus, map designs, rank system etc. a new cod game might be ready to go for 2023 but keep your fingers crossed for Activision gutting the entire cod system.

Sweaty players don't want casual multi like that. I've a 3kd and it's fucking ass. That's the entire point of ranked. Every game is neck and neck and it's great. But if I put the feet up and lie back on the couch playing when half asleep I don't want to be constantly in the hardest lobbies.

It's ass and makes me play way less. Mw3 might be the first cod since 2019 where I'm not there Day 1 sweating it out.

Only good part of cod currently is the campaigns and co op raids, Caldera and mw2 multi ranked. Zombie's on older cod's good also.

Everything else is shite. No hype for mw3 so I'll likely buy it next year on sale or second hand from cex.

I'm done buying CoD. I'll play some DMZ with mates until Marathon is out and XDefiant is already a better arena shooter. F2P baby!

The sweaty players (me) hate SBMM more than anyone. Every cod now I destroy a few open rooms, then get matches vs the kids with adhd who spend 1000s of hours on the game and that's no fun for anyone.

Alpha picked up a lot of people recently so likely even more leaks coming

Plus game was showed behind closed door to some athletes also sounds like invites sent out for a streamer event

Don't care about the multiplayer aspects but Modern Warfare II last year had one of the best campaigns of any game I've played in years.

I really hope III's is just as good.

If War Mode is like the mode in WWII, they got to add a lot more maps for everyone. WWII War Mode boring as it were the same 3 maps. Additional maps only came in DLC packs.

I just hate the parachute stuff, should be a pick up with limited uses or something.
So much I hate about these cod's now adays, but also some cool things they bring.
At least with MS getting their hands on it, they might migrate some of that tech too other games that could benefit the newer/other games... I hope.

How to remake MW3:
  • Mini-map
  • No disbanding lobbies
  • Lowest 15% of players stat-wise should be in their own skill tier, everyone else match based on connection (BO3 felt this way).
  • Attachments and perks actually have noticeable affect
  • Snappiness (less penalty for moving around which seems like a thing in newer games unless you're slide hopping everywhere which also looks dumb and is tiresome sweatiness)... hopefully they dont gimp Specialist.
Let's see how they fuck up. They keep messing around with their golden formula and it's the reason copycat games are popping up to much praise, because those games know what made CoD fun. I've since moved on to Apex Legends for my FPS fix, but I'm not going to lie, I do miss the old CoD days before all the artificial weights they keep adding to keep the best players from slapping their lobby. There was fun to be had equipping perks and unlocking weapons and adding attachments that actually felt like it did something. And the trash talking where the other team made up excuses as to them getting slapped was chefs kiss.
