Moe's vs. Qdoba vs. Chipotle

chipotle/freebirds > qdoba > moes, qdoba only because of the queso really, and free guac. Moes is pretty shit but I'll do it if there's no other options

Never had qdoba.

Prefer chipotle for most items. And faxing a lunch order to skip the line feels awesome.

I do like me some moes queso and salad bowls tho

I got bad food poisoning from a Moe's Burrito once. Horrible stomach cramps and was on the toilet for the better part of 5 days. So, I can never eat there again. I've had Chipotle, it's a bit bland but good.

It's strange to me that I can get Moe's in Ohio, but not California. I like all 3 but only have Chipotle available to me. Chipotle is my go to for a burrito but I love the variety of Moe's.

I also like Rubios.

All I know is that the Coke at Chipotle's is way better than Qdoba or Moe's. But that's probably because they were once owned by McDonalds.

Chipotle is terribly bland. Least favorite place to go to.

Local burrito place >>> Qdoba (free guac and that queso) >> Moe's (for the fresh jalapeños, not enough places offer this up here, it sucks) > Boloco (MA/NE franchise) >>>> Chipotle (exaggerated dislike because I honestly don't understand how so many people think it is that great)

Just had some nachos with rice, beans, chicken, jalapeños, cheese and queso sauce at Moe's.

Fuck that was good. But now I am stuffed like Peppa Pig.

Chipotle bland? What? Have you even tried the salsas on it? Pico de gallo? I don't get how you can consider that bland. Plus the lime cilantro rice is good and the beans and chicken atleast are seasoned. Moe's is bland. Chipotle is not. They also use very fresh ingredients.

Chipotle definitely gets credit for its fresh ingredients, but it is a very bland burrito. Their options are very limited and lack variety in flavor. They don't offer jalapeños and the salsa isn't very spicy whatsoever. Moe's tops them just for having jalapeños (fresh and pickled). Qdoba's salsas have good flavor and variety. It's not like I'm the only one in this thread saying Chipotle is bland (albeit obviously a minority since I've never understood its popularity beyond having the freshest ingredients, which I give them credit for). It's a personal preference of mine, but if a burrito place has such limited options for making the burrito spicy and flavorful, they are already way down in my book.

Definitely Chipotle > Moe's > Qdoba

Moe's "close talker" is delicious. Have you all tried that new tofu Sofritas stuff from Chipotle? Its freaking delicious! I swear to god if you didn't know it was soy, you'd think it was seasoned ground chicken.

How is the burrito not spicy if you use all 3 salsas and pico de gallo though? It's really hot to me atleast. Yeah they don't sell jalapenos by themselves, but they are in the pico de gallo.

Damn... all three within walking distance? Heaven. I only have Chipotle nearby. I'm happy with having that as the only option of the three. It's delicious.

But let's be frank here. I live in the bay area. if I want a burrito. I have some pretty amazing options in every direction. Chipotle does a fine job but it's not top dog.

Rubios is not to be counted out. Since living in California I've developed an obsession with fish tacos.

It's not spicy to me. That's why you throw it up to personal preference I suppose. Chipotle is very bland for my palate (in terms of spice because their ingredients are very fresh tasting, but unfortunately if I'm going out to get a fast food burrito, flavor and spice is higher on my priority list). I also can't take any burrito place that offers tabasco sauce seriously, heh (even if it is their own variation).

I don't understand the "Chipotle is bland" comments. Do you just get rice, chicken and sour cream?

The carnitas, barbacoa and tomatillo salsas are all very flavorful.

Haha, that's another place I find really overrated, but it's still better than all of the chains (Qdoba, Moe's, etc). El Pelon Taqueria is my favorite in Boston.

Where is that? The Anna's I go to seem to know me too, so they give me a decent amount of food without charging extra.

There are two. There is one on Comm Ave in Brighton. There's another by Fenway Park. The Fenway Park one is the only one I've been to. Anna's is good, but I'm always arguing with my brother about Anna's vs Pelon. =P

Nope, I load up on on salsas and jalapeños (if it is offered) at any burrito place I go to. They have some flavor but no kick.

I've actually never eaten at a Qdoba or Moe's which saddens me. A friend of mine swears by Qdoba because of the queso, which Chipotle doesn't offer.

I do think Chipotle could do a better job of expanding the menu. I admire that they keep it basic, but can you try something new once in a while?

Only thing I remember them adding was the new soy meat option.

well i just had a chipotle burrito for the first time (did the barbacoa pork, black beans rice and guac)... pretty good, the guac is def. a notch above. never fucked with moe's but I'd rest it slightly above qdoba, which to be fair I haven't had in a very long time.

both shit on the garbaggio that is taco bell tho.

I can take as high a spice level as most (will chop up a ghost chile or trinidad scorpion or carolina reaper and use it as a garnish) and I still think the hot salsa at Chipotle has a fine, noticeable level of heat.

Your tongue just might be broken.

Moe's vs Chipotle, Moe's wins for being cheaper and having nachos.

Chipotle looked at me funny when I asked them to make nachos for me...

Yeah that's kinda lame since they've got the ingredients to make pretty decent nachos. I asked for nachos and got denied, then asked for a "burrito bowl with chips on the bottom" and the worker still wouldn't do it.

If you can handle those peppers, I'm calling you on thinking that there is a reasonable amount of heat in their hot sauce. Some people don't like Chipotle. It's okay. :)

I don't particularly like any of them, but Qdoba is fucking awful. I've eaten there three times, and every time I try to eat their grilled chicken I either experience a ton of gristle or god knows what it is. It's jarring every time.

Moe's has really good tomatillo sauce though.
