They are still working with Fairtrade, they just put their own brand and logo instead. Or at least that's what I'm getting, and not what the article says.

Basically, they're backing out of the scheme itself, but are allowing that they be monitored by Fairtrade. Presumably, its to try and change the production process in some fashion that Fairtrade itself wouldn't allow.
 
Having it on the back just seens to me to be a smoke screen once its on the back they'll hope no one will notice next year when its gone completely, if they were genuinely committed to fair trade and fair prices for suppliers they'd stick with long established well known certification
