Depends on each person's definitions. Some people didn't like the PS2/PSP controls either.

Looks tell you everything about a tactile element of the game? You wanna hate this dont you.

That TGS trailer was gorgeous. So many beautiful games, and then there's Dead Rising Wii :lol

Does moving the wii remote attack or is it the A button? If it is the latter, it looks like I will have to have a "Wii remote claw" move the camera in a usable manner.

Which buttons are mapped to the attacks?

I have read the detailed description about the new control (even with videos) on the updated official website. To be honest, I don't like the new control so far. I said "looks" instead of "feels" or something because I can't actually test the game myself.

Anyways, there is no point to doubt my love and understanding on the MH series. After all, I have been playing MH (mainly the portable series) for more than 2000 hours.

As I fear, Capcom has not done anything revolutionary to MH3 which other consoles can't do,just waggle slaying,no gameplay revamp. But I'll still buy it.

Yap, agreed. Only new thing is the underwater slaying which is quite interesting, Anw wait for more information, its only at 33%.

Doesnt use IR???
Dont think so. Maybe for easy port to the PSP.

Scrubking said:
Not using the Wiimote IR is not like making a PS360 game in HD. In other words is fucking retarded.
I hope they will get feedbacks from players at TGS and add in IR.

Am interested in this monster:)

Bloody hell… even if the idea is simply to make a future port/adaptation easier, I don’t really see why they couldn’t incorporate IR aiming into the Wii build and strip it out of any future port (hell, supporting the Classic Controller means the game would already be playable without IR). There’s not even a reasonable gameplay argument against it (as there was in the case of something like Fatal Frame) and it’s disappointing if it is indeed absent.

Remember how everyone was saying this would only sell about 4-500k LTD? I'm beginning to think its a million seller lock.

I don't know if I'll say it's a lock to sell a million, but I agree it is going to do better than the first two console versions.

I said so fucking wow @ the trailer O_o
The music is amazing, is it the monster hunter main theme or something? I'm really unfamiliar with the series.

Metaphoreus said:
...which is a reasonable reaction given that you've (presumably) never played it...

Because I made a finite decision based on how it played? I was jut commenting on how it seemed in the video. Turn down the defense mechanism.

No IR poiting@!@!@!!!!11!?1?!??

Everyone needs to collectively bitch in japan so capcom changes thiiiis.

Will still get the game anyways, but damn, IR pointing was just so obvious from the start for bows -_-

Well I for one am pleased with what I have seen. I like the option of the classical and wii-mote controllers. I do agree with others the IR pointer with bow(guns) would be a really nice touch.

Now please Capcom bring it to us who live outside Japan (hopefully someone can confirm this).

Another reason for no IR pointing is that gunners/bows might become too strong although you can tone down the damage but this in turn might make it too weak. Anw its only at 33% lets see what Capcom will do about it.

split screen holy shit!
damn, all the vids ! I haven't been this hyped for a game in so long !

well it looks like loading zones are still in there, but the environments look so much more massive. it's a shame about the aiming, since you could obviously use it for all the projectiles. it almost seems necessary, and a no brainier for introducing new players to the MH realm with such a natural way to use the bow guns and all.

I presume it doesn't have IR aiming for the same reason it doesn't have lock-on targetting- it changes the combat in ways they don't intend.

But the loading now are so dam fast, its almost like seamless. I hope the final build will be like this too.

New info:
Monster have stamina now, once depleted they will run away and look for food to eat to restore.
+
You can cook 2 meats at the same time.

thanks for all the news
it is pretty damn fast now, i wonder how they got that to work on wii. well it is always fun to make a last dying leap of faith towards the safety load-wall.

monsters having stamina is an awesome addition, it looks like they're really working hard to make the creatures more convincing. i love the vid where the dromes take on the huge drome, like he's movin' in on their territory. i can only imagine the different environmental/biological hazards you could use to your advantage when luring a wyvern into the fight.

speaking of two meats ... i wonder what wiimote speaker stuff they could be doing for all the gathering minigames.

EDIT:
okay, i see. you basically use the camera to navigate when you're swimming ....... i'm usually very millenium-falcon gunner seat inverse with my 3d cameras, i hope i can adjust ( i have a couple hundred hours to figure it out though :D )

If am not wrong, I think they take out this so call 'feature':lol There are now close to no safety load wall at all, monster will just chase you if you run away.

Btw saw this in better quality and it look dam impressive for in game.

here's to hoping they'll show off IR aiming with the announcement of a new weapon class :D

yea, the freshwater swamp environments look like they'll be stunning. capgod knows how to do it, i hope you get to fight that giant arowana type fish that's in the illustrations book

To be fair, most MMOs (yes, I know MH isn't an MMO) don't incorporate mouse based shooting. You basically just target and press the fire button.

To be honest, I don't know why it's like this, but it is.

But like the above said, only about 30% finished. There's a LOT of stuff that needs to get done.

Thanks for pointing me to this thread. Defuser, thanks for putting this together: it's a shame this thread is so small. I'm a fan of this series, and I didn't even know this thread existed.
