Considering I'm playing through Hyrule Warrior, and I know this is a terrible comparison, but this feels..... slow. I'm guessing it would feel a lot better with the C-Stick, but it feels slow and clunky. Am I supposed to be able to jump on the monsters back with the R+B jump? Seems like it could be interesting though.

No, you can mount monsters if you jump and land a hit and the hit happens to knock the monster down. It also doesn't always happen even if all those prerequisites are met.
It's cool either way, since I'm not trying to get a code for myself anymore as my edit indicates. :b
