Capcom announced they would be telling us more about Rise soon, and it seems we aren't far off from getting it. I imagine news of the demo is incoming, if not a shadow drop.

990h with GU, 660h with World and 1000h with FU has led to this moment. Fucking save us from this drought, Rise!

A demo would be really nice, would like to see how it runs on handheld.

I can`t go back to mobile graphics after MHW...I so wish they`d produce a dedicated PC/XSX/PS5 version for this

That low poly, low res, muddy textured, lighting-missing stuff you posted, and yes I mean the MHR screens, too.

I played MH since the PSP, but it`s 2021 and that is just not good looking for something I´d just play 100% stationary. I´ll have to wait for MHW2.

This series isn't for me and I've tried. I'll check it out but doubt it'll convince me.
Try different weapons as those change the gameplay completely. When I bought MH:World I started with a big ass blade and thought the game was slow and cluncky as hell.

Later I tried the charge blade and I ended up with 200+ hours of gameplay.

"low poly, low res, muddy textured"

Please educate yourself about those terms first before spouting nonsense.

MHR on Switch has superior lighting because it's being developed in RE engine instead of MTFramework Engine.

Keep telling yourself that.
It looks like crap by stationary hardware standards, period.

No need to be aggressive. Obviously you won't get MHW gfx on switch. That said I think Switch version looks good and to be fair MH is the only game where I don't mind bad graphics. I'm a big fanboy

By stationary hardware standard without even understanding anything about technical stuff. Sounds like tech expert wannabe.
Oh jesus another internet "expert" with massive Dunning Kruger syndrom....
Sorry but I don`t engage with idiots => Ignored.
Your Profile tag says it all..... "Do not engage the troll..."

Rise is targeting the coop/local coop crowd so might as well just wait for MHW2, or just try it out for new experience.

Well, I played all mobile/handheld installments since the PSP, so that wouldn`t be a new experience at all for me. But I much prefer the stationary games like MHW+Iceborne nowadays.
I just got more and more nitpicky about graphics/presentation over the years and simply can`t go back now.
I wish you guys a lot of fun, but with the capabilities of the switch, this isn`t for me.

Do you also played coop on PSP/ 3DS or just single player? And now you just can't stomach bad graphics anymore? I guess that makes sense given the MHW impact.

I had a lot of things I didn't like in MHW so I'm very much hyped for this. Godspeed.

Oh jesus christ... usually that's the time for a general direct...

We aren't getting a general direct this month either, are we...

The presence of hunter arts and the more « agile » gameplay make me hope for a return of something similar to Adept or Valor style. Playing MHW after 300+ hours of Valor DB was just so dull and boring I stopped after Shara. Fingers crossed...

I always played coop/solo about 50/50.
And yes, it`s pretty much only the graphics keeping me away from this one as it just looks "old" to me. No doubt the gameplay will once again be great, but I`ll wait for the next installment designed for stationary hardware.
Have fun :)

Thanks, you have fun waiting for that stationary hardware version.

To me MHR is graphically more appealing

Yes!

Well now i'm curious.

I hate playing a monster hunter at 30 fps with switch joypad and the shitty online experience that only nintendo can offer in 2021 but a monster hunter with re engine is something else.

Too bad they used mt framework for world...

Do you know if they reworked the animations too?!

I think they said there's a PC version coming at some point? Or am I delusional.

Anyway, interested in the future of the franchise regardless. I think MHW expanded the audience dramatically.

I wonder if it's possible we'll get the PC announcement here. I really want this game but I can hold off on the Switch version if the PC port isn't too far off.

Either way, a demo release seems highly likely. Especially since this starts pretty early.

In all honestly I'm looking forward to Monster Hunter Stories 2 over this, for one stories uses stylised graphics which look really good on the switch.

I will be picking up both but I agree with the people who say Rise looks graphically quite shit imo. Hopefully it will look better when you play.

I see many people mention better optimized engine and lighting and what not.....but do NOT expect the Tegra X1 to be able to do native 1080p at even 15 fps.....we'll probably see upscaled 720p, with everything on "low", STILL with an unstable 30fps.

To me Monster Hunter Tri (not Ultimate) had the coolest and most coherent overall aesthetic in the series and was also the most robust new entry. I loved the enhancements which made it more user friendly without ditching staple elements or changing the style and all the new additions (bring back the swimming pls). Rise looks pretty decent, I don't get the complaints for muddy textures and things, you can tell it's no longer powered by a home sized chip but it's not like World assets were all amazing either, it's a rather crude and rough looking game often enough as you go through all its content. I even sort of scoffed at Portable 3rd which after Tri was clearly not the A-team's creation at the time but at this point with the direction the main series has taken since then it feels like it could be a breath of fresh air the way they go back to that and rework it to be more competent, robust and higher end than it could be back then. Hopefully the PC version leaks are true and I get to play it (even if it's almost the same in UDH/hfr), whether it becomes a major hit or not (I don't think anything other than a next gen World 2 after leaving the World fanbase starved for a bit and being able to wow them with an all next gen look can have as much success, it's not like yearly MonHuns of the past sold to core fans).
