The WB has released five images and a synopsis for "Arrival," the fifth-season premiere of Smallville scheduled to air on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Having been transported to the Fortress of Solitude, Clark (Tom Welling) is confronted by Jor-El, who tells him he cannot return to Smallville, instead he must stay and prepare to save the planet. Also, transported to the Fortress, Chloe (Allison Mack) is unable to handle the sub-zero temperature and collapses, begging Clark to use his powers to save her. Jor-El forbids him to leave, but finally acquiesces, telling Clark he must return before sunset or there will be dire consequences. Meanwhile, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) is horrified when she sees two Kryptonian aliens emerge from a spaceship discovered in the remnants of the meteor shower. The two aliens destroy what's left of the town searching for Kal-El."

Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer wrote the episode, which was directed by James Marshall.

If I recall, in the last ep of the season a spacecraft crashed there and she's climbing up the ridge to check it out.

*edit*
Hell, it tells you in the description you just posted... :p

Why is that chloe so damn sexy? And why does veronica mars remind me of her?

The questions, the questions, why do you need ID to get ID, the questions.

...

ahem

Allison Mack (Chloe) is a freaking beauty, no doubt about it, not only the hottest actress on Smallville, but also definitely one of the cutest chicks I've ever seen.

Yeah, I've always had a thing for Allison Mack ever since the show started. Kristen Kreuk is probably the most beautiful girl on this lucky little planet, but lordy once she starts 'acting'...

Smallville has only been good for the women since season 2...

As such i wouldnt miss it for the world.

Honestly, I think Tom Wellington pulls off a pretty good young Clark, and Rosembaum can be a good Lex at times. Season 2 was the best in my opinion, since then there's been a few standout moments and a whole lotta' crap.

Oh yeah, as individuals the characters are all good, especially the Kents & Luthors, but the show somehow ends up much less than the sum of its parts.

Thats just the god aweful bad writting that dominates the show. Most of the cast can play their roles, they just don't have a quality script to work with.

QFT

they need to tighten up on the writing. they have a great cast, and a flawless premise (it's an american icon for christ sake).

tighten it up and they could near the top of the small two ratings war.
